AIDA Cruises Opens Winter 2028-29 Bookings With Santo Domingo Departures
AIDAstella will depart Singapore on December 21, 2028, for a 14-day Thailand and Malaysia sailing, spending New Year's Eve off Phuket before returning to Singapore.
AIDA Cruises has opened bookings for its winter 2028-29 season, covering departures from October 2028 through April 2029. The program adds Santo Domingo as a Caribbean departure port and includes extended voyages from Germany to Brazil and Mauritius, alongside sailings in Southeast Asia, Australia and the Canary Islands.
The release does not cover the German line’s entire 11-ship fleet. Sailings aboard AIDAnova, AIDAperla and AIDAmar will become available later, with a world cruise planned for AIDAmar. The announcement did not include a statement from an AIDA executive.
Three ships in the Caribbean
AIDAprima, AIDAdiva and AIDAbella will operate the Caribbean program. Different itineraries can be booked together to create 28-day voyages covering destinations across the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America.
AIDAbella’s 14-day “Caribbean and Central America” itinerary will call at Cozumel, Belize City, Roatan, Puerto Limon, Colon and Cartagena. AIDAdiva will also operate two-week sailings, with destinations including Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, Costa Rica, Panama and Colombia.
Lesser Antilles routes will include Dominica, Martinique, Barbados, Saint Lucia, Antigua, Sint Maarten and Tortola. Other itineraries will travel via Jamaica to the Cayman Islands and the ABC islands of Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao.
La Romana will remain a departure option alongside Santo Domingo, whose two main cruise terminals, Don Diego and Sans Souci, are on opposite banks of the Ozama River.
Asia, Australia and New Year sailings
AIDAstella will sail a 14-day voyage from Singapore on December 21, 2028, visiting Thailand and Malaysia before returning to Singapore. The ship will spend New Year’s Eve off Phuket.
The vessel’s winter deployment also includes Australia, where Exmouth, on the country’s west coast, will be a new port of call.
AIDAcosma and AIDAluna will offer New Year’s Eve sailings with views of the fireworks off Madeira. Depending on the route, the wider Canary Islands program will visit Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, with additional calls in Madeira, Morocco and on Spain’s Atlantic coast.
Extended departures from Germany
AIDAluna’s “Great Winter Break” program includes a 27-day Canary Islands and Azores voyage departing Kiel on November 5, 2028, and finishing in Hamburg. The itinerary begins with Dover, continues to Spanish ports and Agadir in Morocco, then visits Madeira and the Azores. Further calls at Dover and Skagen precede arrival in Hamburg.
A separate 50-day “Great Winter Break Brazil for Carnival” voyage will depart Hamburg on January 8, 2029, and return to the same port. The schedule includes three days in Rio de Janeiro during Carnival and a call at Maceio in eastern Brazil, another new destination for AIDA.
AIDAsol will operate longer voyages from Warnemunde to Mauritius, with itinerary lengths ranging from 41 to 55 days. African calls will include Walvis Bay, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and Maputo.
Later in the season, AIDAluna will sail roundtrip from Hamburg to Norway on a 12-day departure on February 27 and a 14-day departure on March 11, 2029. Calls across those itineraries will include Tromso, Alta, Bodo and Trondheim.
