MSC World Asia to Debut Eataly Restaurant in December 2026
Eataly on MSC World Asia will feature a table chef for show cooking, a sea-facing terrace and personalized visits to The Terrace Bar’s wine cellar.
MSC Cruises will introduce an Eataly restaurant aboard the 6,758-passenger MSC World Asia when the ship begins Mediterranean service on December 4, 2026. The restaurant, announced October 15, will be Eataly’s second location at sea, following its 2025 debut aboard MSC World America.
Eataly will join more than 40 restaurants, bars, cafés and lounges aboard the new flagship; MSC Cruises says it remains the only cruise operator offering the brand at sea.
“Partnering with Eataly allows us to bring a renowned culinary brand to sea, offering guests an authentic dining experience,” said Gianni Onorato, CEO of MSC Cruises.
Show cooking and terrace dining
The restaurant’s menu will draw on regional Italian cooking alongside classic dishes. Show cooking will be a central feature. A dedicated table chef will give diners a close view of the food preparation.
Guests can eat outdoors on the restaurant’s sea-facing terrace. MSC will also offer personalized visits to The Terrace Bar’s wine cellar, where diners can choose their own bottle. The announcement did not specify restaurant pricing or reservation arrangements.
Countdown to the December debut
MSC World Asia will operate seven-night itineraries calling at Barcelona, Marseille, Messina, Civitavecchia for Rome, Naples and Valletta. Bookings are available with a choice of embarkation ports, and the inaugural sailing will depart from Barcelona.
The restaurant announcement follows MSC’s early-October presentation of the ship’s entertainment program. Six theatrical productions will be split between the World Theatre and Panorama Lounge, comprising four new shows and two returning productions.
The new World Theatre productions are La NoTte, Sensoria and Ritmo Divino, while Sunset Symphonic will debut in Panorama Lounge with orchestral arrangements of pop and dance music alongside live performers and aerial acts. The ship’s wider live-music program will feature 33 musicians performing daily, including soloists, bands and dueling pianists.
MSC World Asia has completed its final sea trials in the Atlantic off western France. Testing covered propulsion, maneuverability, fuel efficiency, safety systems, speed and stopping distances.
Builder Chantiers de l’Atlantique is scheduled to deliver the vessel on November 25, 2026. A naming ceremony is planned for November 28 in Le Havre, France.
