Celebrity Cruises Unveils Largest Europe Season for 2028

Celebrity Cruises will deploy eight ships in Europe in 2028, its largest season in the region, with four Edge Series vessels operating there simultaneously for the first time. The company unveiled the program on August 10, 2026, as part of a 2028-29 deployment covering all seven continents.

Celebrity Beyond, Celebrity Xcel, Celebrity Ascent and Celebrity Apex will form the Edge Series contingent, whose ships carry roughly 2,900 to 3,260 guests at standard occupancy. The wider European schedule also brings Celebrity back to Egypt and Bari, Italy, while adding the line’s first call at Galway, Ireland.

“We’re delighted to give our guests more ways than ever to experience the world’s most extraordinary destinations in 2028 and 2029,” Celebrity Cruises President Laura Hodges Bethge said.

Three ships sail Northern Europe

Celebrity Beyond will return to Europe for the first time since 2023, operating seven- to 14-night cruises from Southampton to Norway, Iceland and Scandinavia. One 14-night itinerary combines calls at Reykjavik, Isafjordur, Akureyri and Seydisfjordur with Geiranger, Alesund, Flam, Nordfjordeid and Bergen.

Beyond is scheduled for a dry dock in November 2026 that will add the Bora Mediterranean restaurant and Celebrity Pool Club before the European deployment.

Celebrity Apex will offer 12-night Scandinavian itineraries calling at Oslo, Skagen, Stockholm, Tallinn, Helsinki and Copenhagen. Its new 12-night British Isles program will cover England, Scotland and Ireland, including Celebrity’s inaugural Galway visit.

Celebrity Summit will add round-trip Iceland cruises from Reykjavik.

The Norwegian fjord itineraries will operate before the country extends its zero-emission requirement to passenger ships of 10,000 gross tons and above in World Heritage fjords on January 1, 2032. The first phase, covering passenger vessels below 10,000 gross tons, takes effect in 2026.

Mediterranean schedule restores Egypt and Bari calls

Celebrity Xcel, Celebrity Ascent and Celebrity Eclipse will operate seven- to 11-night Mediterranean cruises covering Italy, France, Spain, Morocco, Portugal, Greece and Turkey. Celebrity Constellation will sail 10- and 11-night Italy and Croatia itineraries, including Celebrity’s first Bari call since 2014.

Celebrity Infinity will continue year-round European operations. Its summer Eastern Mediterranean schedule includes Celebrity’s first Egypt cruises since 2023 and overnight calls at Alexandria, while shoulder-season voyages from Athens will visit Santorini, Kavala, Rhodes, Mykonos and Ephesus. Infinity will move to Barcelona for the winter, with itineraries to the Canary Islands, Portugal and Morocco.

Deployment extends across Alaska, Asia and South America

Three Celebrity ships will sail in Alaska in 2028. Celebrity Edge will return for a fifth season, while the 121,878-gross-ton Celebrity Equinox will enter the market for the first time with seven-night cruises between Vancouver and Seward. Celebrity Millennium will offer round-trip Vancouver departures, and Equinox will also operate new round-trip Hawaii sailings from Los Angeles.

Celebrity Edge and Celebrity Solstice will operate 23 cruises from Sydney and Auckland, ranging from four to 14 nights. Solstice will then sail its first full Japan season from April through October 2028 before joining Millennium on winter itineraries covering Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and China. Millennium will remain overnight in Hong Kong for New Year’s Eve.

Celebrity Equinox will operate 12- to 16-night South America and Antarctica voyages across five countries, including a 16-night holiday cruise over New Year’s Eve. In North America, Celebrity Summit will sail seven-night Bermuda cruises from Cape Liberty beginning in May 2028, followed by 12-night Canada and New England itineraries from Boston in September and October.

Summer 2028 Japan cruises are already on sale. Bookings for Europe, Bermuda, Canada and New England open to the public on August 25, 2026, followed by Alaska, Hawaii and South America on September 1 and Australia and winter Asia on September 29. Celebrity has not announced release dates for its Caribbean itineraries or 2029 Galapagos program.
