AIDA to Air Germany’s 2026 World Cup Matches on Select Cruises

By turning World Cup nights into shared onboard experiences, AIDA is leaning into football’s pull in the German market to make summer cruises feel more locally connected.

AIDA Cruises will add live FIFA World Cup broadcasts and sports-themed programming to selected sailings during the tournament’s June 11-27, 2026, group stage. The Rostock-based Carnival Corporation & plc brand said the program will focus on German national team matches, with onboard coverage before, during and after games.

The activation is not fleetwide. It covers four of AIDA’s 11 active ships: AIDAnova, AIDAcosma, AIDAprima and AIDAperla. The schedule is concentrated on five itineraries from Hamburg, Kiel and Mallorca that overlap Germany’s group-stage fixtures.

Published screenings center on Germany’s group-stage matches

  • June 14, 7 p.m.: Germany vs. Curacao is scheduled aboard AIDAperla on the Metropolises from Hamburg cruise from June 13-20; AIDAprima on Norway’s Fjords from Hamburg from June 12-21; and AIDAcosma on Mediterranean Treasures with Corsica from Mallorca from June 13-20.
  • June 20, 10 p.m.: Germany vs. Ivory Coast is listed for AIDAprima’s Norway’s Fjords from Hamburg sailing, AIDAnova’s Norway with Sognefjord from Kiel cruise from June 20-27, and AIDAcosma’s Mediterranean Treasures with Sardinia from Mallorca sailing from June 20-27.
  • June 25, 10 p.m.: Ecuador vs. Germany is scheduled aboard AIDAnova on the Kiel-based Norway with Sognefjord itinerary and AIDAcosma on the Mallorca-based Mediterranean Treasures with Sardinia itinerary.

Onboard programming adds talk shows and fan events

AIDA listed the pool deck, Theatrium and brewery among the onboard viewing venues. The cruise line said the match broadcasts will be paired with culinary offerings, pre-match and post-match reports, and halftime analysis from German football experts.

The onboard program will also include prediction games, quizzes and fan talk shows. AIDA will host a special “Doppelpass on Cruise” edition with presenters Uwe Bahn, Thomas Helmer and Lou Richter; Doppelpass has aired on SPORT1 in Germany since September 1995.

The announcement covers group-stage programming only and does not list screenings for the knockout rounds.
