Royal Princess Adds Sanctuary Collection in Singapore Refit
Before Sanctuary Club access becomes a Collection benefit on April 22, 2027, all Royal Princess guests aged 16 and older may preview the area.
Princess Cruises’ Royal Princess completed a two-week drydock in Singapore on October 30, 2026, adding 20 cabins and new spaces for the line’s Sanctuary Collection. The refit also introduced O’Malley’s Irish Pub and expanded Bellini’s cocktail bar, alongside changes to the casino and onboard shops.
The ship is the first of five Royal Class vessels scheduled to receive the upgrade, with its first Sanctuary Collection voyage departing January 4, 2027, on a 12-day South Pacific itinerary. Sanctuary Club access will not become a Collection benefit until April 22, 2027; before then, all guests aged 16 and older may preview the area.
Princess Cruises Chief Operating Officer Rodrigo Llaguno said the work introduces “new accommodations, distinctive venues for entertaining, dining and socializing, and thoughtfully refreshed spaces.”
Delivered by Fincantieri’s Monfalcone yard in 2013, the 142,229-gross-ton ship is listed by Princess with a capacity of 3,595 guests. The added accommodation comprises six mini-suites, seven oceanview cabins, two interior cabins and five single interior cabins.
Sanctuary accommodation and booking terms
On Royal Princess, the Sanctuary Collection spans selected suites, mini-suites, deluxe balcony and balcony cabins, as well as newly constructed oceanview accommodation. Its dedicated Sanctuary Restaurant is on deck 6 beside the Concerto Dining Room and is reserved for Collection guests, with menus drawing on the destinations visited.
The Sanctuary Club occupies the former Retreat Pool and The Sanctuary. The club includes a dedicated pool, lounge areas, upgraded loungers and poolside food and beverage service. Shaded cabanas carry an additional charge.
New Sanctuary Collection bookings include Princess Premier, covering Wi-Fi, premium beverages, crew appreciation, room service and OceanNow delivery, together with specialty and casual dining. Other Collection benefits include priority access and reservations, upgraded in-room amenities and daily programming.
Guests in Sanctuary Suites also receive assistance from a dedicated suite concierge for dining, entertainment and other onboard arrangements, plus access to a private Suite Lounge.
Passengers who reserved a Reserve Collection stateroom on Royal Princess before October 22, 2026, will receive the additional Sanctuary Collection amenities without an extra charge. Princess Premier is excluded from that complimentary upgrade. Princess has not confirmed equivalent arrangements for existing reservations on the other four ships in the expansion.
New Piazza bars and a bigger casino floor
O’Malley’s Irish Pub replaces Vines on deck 5, bringing Irish-inspired food and drinks to the Piazza. The venue is already available on other Princess ships, including Discovery Princess, Emerald Princess and Enchanted Princess.
Bellini’s has taken over the former Photo Gallery space, enlarging the bar’s setting overlooking the Piazza. Its drinks selection includes Bellini-inspired cocktails, champagne, sparkling wines and other specialty beverages.
The casino’s redesign removed the staircase between decks 6 and 7, allowing the gaming floor to expand and creating more room for slot machines. Princess also reconfigured the layout to provide a more open gaming area.
Retail work included a refreshed Effy jewelry boutique and upgrades to The Shops of Princess as the ship transitioned to onboard retail partner Starboard.
Australia ahead, four sister ships to follow
The Sanctuary additions extend a product first introduced on Sun Princess and Star Princess. Regal Princess, Discovery Princess, Sky Princess and Enchanted Princess are scheduled to follow between April and June 2027, in what Princess describes as the first phase of a multiyear fleet modernization program.
Royal Princess will head from Singapore to Sydney for a season covering Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific, including shorter coastal voyages. It will be one of three Princess ships operating in the region during 2026–27, with the line scheduling 62 departures across 42 itineraries.
