Island Princess Begins 50-Night Mediterranean Sailing

In December, Island Princess will begin 16-night Panama Canal sailings between Los Angeles and Fort Lauderdale, including a full canal transit through late April 2027.

Princess Cruises’ Island Princess, a Coral-class ship, has departed Fort Lauderdale on a 50-night roundtrip voyage covering 24 ports in 10 countries and territories. The “Grand Mediterranean Odyssey” sailed in early October 2026 and is due back at Port Everglades in late November.

The itinerary combines two Atlantic crossings with calls in the western and eastern Mediterranean. Passengers could also book individual 25-night segments between Fort Lauderdale and Piraeus, the port for Athens. Princess Cruises released the itinerary details without executive comment.

Mediterranean calls and the westbound route

After visiting Bermuda and the Azores, Island Princess passed through the Strait of Gibraltar and reached the western Mediterranean in late October. Its schedule there includes Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca in Spain, Ajaccio in France, and Portoferraio and Naples in Italy.

From late October into early November, the ship is scheduled to visit Greece, Turkey, Croatia and Montenegro. Calls include the Greek islands of Santorini, Mykonos and Rhodes, along with Kusadasi in Turkey, Dubrovnik in Croatia and Kotor in Montenegro.

The westbound portion includes Gibraltar, Casablanca in Morocco and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands before the ship crosses the Atlantic back to Florida.

Panama Canal deployment follows

After returning to Port Everglades, Island Princess is scheduled to offer Caribbean and Bahamas itineraries. In December, it will begin a series of 16-night Panama Canal voyages between Los Angeles and Fort Lauderdale.

Those open-jaw sailings include a full transit of the canal, with additional calls in the Caribbean and along the Pacific coast of Central America. The deployment is scheduled to continue through late April 2027.

A summer season in Alaska and British Columbia will follow. Island Princess will operate seven-night voyages between Vancouver and Whittier as part of Princess Cruises’ eight-ship lineup in the region.
