Grenada Opens 2026-27 Cruise Season With 192 Calls Scheduled
On days with more than three ships scheduled, additional vessels may anchor offshore and transfer passengers ashore by tender.
Grenada opened its 2026-27 cruise season Tuesday with the arrival of Princess Cruises’ Coral Princess at the Melville Street Cruise Terminal in St. George’s. The destination has 192 cruise calls scheduled for the season, which runs through May 2027.
The busiest stretch runs from December through February. December has 38 calls, January 42 and February 44. The schedule mixes large cruise ships with smaller luxury vessels and sailing ships.
The Grenada Tourism Authority identified shore excursions, transportation, dining and spending with vendors and artisans as opportunities for local businesses during the season. “Cruise tourism provides an important avenue for our people to participate in the visitor economy,” Tourism Minister Adrian Thomas said. He pointed to local guides, artisans and communities as contributors to passengers’ experiences ashore.
“Each call gives us a valuable opportunity to show visitors why Grenada deserves more than a day on their itinerary,” said Grenada Tourism Authority Chairman Randall Dolland. He said connections with the destination’s attractions and communities could encourage return visits while bringing business to local operators.
Shanai St. Bernard, nautical development manager at the Grenada Tourism Authority, said coordination between cruise lines, port partners and local operators would be important for orderly arrivals and a positive visitor experience.
Melville Street gives arriving passengers direct access to the Esplanade Shopping Mall and downtown St. George’s. The Carenage is within walking distance, while Grand Anse Beach and other coastal destinations are accessible by taxi or water taxi. Passenger pickup areas, tourist information and the Melville Street Bus Terminus are also near the terminal.
The Inner Harbour and Carenage serve mainly smaller cruise vessels and ships that cannot berth at the main terminal. On particularly busy days, when more than three ships are scheduled, additional vessels may anchor offshore and transfer passengers ashore by tender.
The season also includes calls at Carriacou, Grenada’s sister island, where passengers can explore its maritime heritage and local attractions.
