MSC World Asia Unveils Six Stage Shows Ahead of 2026 Debut

Following final sea trials off France’s Atlantic coast, MSC World Asia is due for delivery on November 25, with a naming ceremony set for November 28 in Le Havre.

MSC Cruises has unveiled six stage productions for the 216,638-gross-ton MSC World Asia ahead of its Mediterranean debut on December 4, 2026. Four shows will be new to the line. Performances will be divided between the World Theatre and Panorama Lounge, while 33 musicians will perform daily throughout the ship.

The third World Class vessel will introduce 13 new experiences and redesigned spaces compared with MSC World Europa. Its entertainment programme will also extend to Luna Park, The Harbour and the new Clubhouse.

MSC Creative Studios, the recently opened entertainment development and performer-training facility in Edinburgh, Scotland, includes dedicated aerial-rehearsal space alongside dance and vocal studios.

“MSC Creative Studios has handpicked leading creative talent with major credits across the entertainment industry to develop world-class original productions for MSC World Asia,” said Stephanie Jansen, MSC Cruises’ senior director, creative and theatrical entertainment.

New productions and returning shows

Three original productions will join the World Theatre programme. La NoTte, developed with Only Child, combines dance, music and cinematic elements in a house where time has stopped. Its characters, including lovers and outsiders, move through memories of a night that seems unable to end.

Ritmo Divino, created with 2 Creative Entertainment, centres on a tragic romance between a young flamenco dancer and a matador. The production combines flamenco with a contemporary interpretation of Spanish folklore.

Sensoria, produced by tbi “The Big Idea,” takes the five senses as its theme. The show uses music, movement and circus performance to explore sight, hearing, touch, taste and smell.

The fourth new production, Sunset Symphonic, will be staged in the Panorama Lounge. Pop and dance songs receive orchestral arrangements, and a recorded orchestra accompanies live vocalists and musicians. The performance also incorporates choreography and aerial acts.

Two existing MSC productions complete the lineup. The World Theatre will present Hall of Fame, a concert-style show drawing on music-awards and pop performances from different generations. Featured artists include Elton John, Jennifer Lopez and Beyoncé.

Queen Symphonic, already performed aboard MSC World America, will join the Panorama Lounge programme. It combines footage of a 36-piece symphony orchestra with an onstage rock band, singers, dancers and acrobats performing Queen’s music.

Live music and family activities

The daily music roster will include roaming performers, soloists, bands and MSC’s duelling-piano format. The Terraces Bar & Lounge will also host live music indoors, alongside its Italian aperitivo service and guided wine tastings.

Steve Leatham, MSC Cruises’ vice president of entertainment, said the wider programme would include “enriching activities, games and interactive experiences.”

At the Clubhouse, daytime activities will include MSC-themed games, interactive digital tables and a LEGO area for younger guests. The nearby Court will offer bumper cars. The venue’s Soda Bar will let guests customise non-alcoholic drinks with syrups, cream and toppings, with cocktails and mocktails served in the evening.

Delivery and inaugural sailings

The ship’s seven-night Mediterranean programme will call at Barcelona, Marseille, Genoa, Civitavecchia for Rome, Messina and Valletta. Passengers will be able to embark at each port on the regular itinerary. The inaugural voyage will depart from Barcelona.

Final sea trials have been completed off France’s Atlantic coast, including tests of propulsion, manoeuvrability, safety systems, speed and stopping distances. Finishing work will take place at Chantiers de l’Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire before delivery to MSC Cruises on November 25. The naming ceremony is scheduled for November 28 in Le Havre, France.
