MSC Armonia Joins Europe Winter Program With Egypt, Morocco Cruises

Built in 2001, the 2,658-guest MSC Armonia will make extended calls at Alexandria and Port Said, while later routes include Tangier, Casablanca and Alicante.

MSC Cruises has added MSC Armonia to its winter 2027-28 European deployment, with extended Mediterranean cruises beginning in December 2027. The ship will start with Eastern Mediterranean itineraries before shifting to the Western Mediterranean and Atlantic in late January 2028.

Armonia is listed as the ninth vessel in MSC’s published winter program for Europe and the Mediterranean, which also includes MSC World Europa. The assignment follows several changes to the ship’s planned deployment across South Africa and South America.

Longer itineraries to Egypt and Morocco

The opening schedule consists of 13-night Eastern Mediterranean voyages, with roundtrip departures from Genoa and other embarkation ports. The itineraries cover Egypt, Italy, Greece, Cyprus and Malta, with extended calls at Alexandria and Port Said.

The subsequent Western Mediterranean and Atlantic program comprises 10- and 11-night cruises visiting Italy, Spain, France and Morocco. Calls in that part of the season include Tangier, Casablanca and Alicante. Genoa will be a departure port, while interporting will allow passengers to embark at multiple ports along the routes.

Built in 2001, Armonia measures 65,542 gross tons. MSC lists passenger capacity at 2,658 guests, with accommodation across 976 cabins.

Successive changes to the ship’s winter assignment

Armonia had initially been scheduled to return to South Africa for winter 2027-28, following its planned debut there in 2026-27. That plan changed when MSC Sinfonia took over the published late-2027 repositioning voyage to South Africa.

MSC subsequently assigned Armonia to a five-ship South American program alongside MSC Virtuosa, MSC Divina, MSC Splendida and MSC Musica. Those plans covered cruises in Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay.

A further revision followed MSC’s August cancellation of its planned winter 2027-28 operations in the Middle East and Arabian Gulf. The company then changed its South American deployment, substituting MSC Meraviglia for Armonia.

MSC has separately announced another adjustment to its European winter schedule: MSC Euribia will move from the Mediterranean to the Canary Islands for 2027-28. No executive statement accompanied the details of Armonia’s latest assignment.

The new Western Mediterranean and Atlantic voyages are scheduled through mid-March 2028. Armonia will then resume its previously published Eastern Mediterranean deployment.
