Carnival to Sell Limited-Edition Bulleit Bourbon on 14 Ships
The barrel was selected in January by Starboard’s Lisa Bauer and Carnival’s Christine Duffy at Starboard’s Unleash the Potential Summit.
Starboard, Carnival Cruise Line and Diageo are introducing a limited-edition single-barrel Bulleit Bourbon that will be sold only in Carnival onboard retail stores on 14 ships this summer. The release is tied to Carnival’s America 250 programming, with bottles priced at $59.99.
The bourbon comes from a barrel selected in January by Lisa Bauer, president and CEO of Starboard, and Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, during Starboard’s Unleash the Potential Summit, where Duffy appeared as a guest speaker. Diageo is the parent company of Bulleit Bourbon.
“Christine and I were able to taste and select in person together earlier this year,” Bauer said, adding that Starboard sees demand for “personalized, immersive experiences such as premium spirits tastings” among Carnival guests.
Duffy said Carnival is adding the product to shops. “This special single-barrel pick gives our guests another fun, memorable way to enjoy their time at sea,” she said.
Starboard, a Miami-based vacation retailer operating onboard retail across more than 90 ships for 15 cruise line partners, is handling the cruise retail channel for the release.
Fourteen Carnival ships will carry the bourbon
The limited-edition Bulleit Bourbon will be stocked on Carnival Celebration, Carnival Dream, Carnival Firenze, Carnival Freedom, Carnival Horizon, Carnival Jubilee, Carnival Legend, Carnival Magic, Carnival Miracle, Carnival Panorama, Carnival Pride, Carnival Sunrise, Carnival Sunshine and Carnival Venezia.
The product description cites fruit and floral notes on the nose, spice on the palate and a smoother finish. The announcement did not provide a bottle count, a ship-by-ship allocation or a more specific start date beyond availability this summer.
Carnival adds retail item to wider America 250 program
The bourbon release joins Carnival’s broader America 250 schedule, which includes ship meetups, fireworks, onboard programming and community events tied to the U.S. 250th anniversary.
On July 4, seven Carnival ships are scheduled to gather near Celebration Key in the Bahamas for a fireworks show, while three West Coast ships are planned to meet near San Diego for the Big Bay Boom fireworks display. Select sailings also include patriotic decorations, Red, White and Blue Deck Parties, themed food and beverage items, America250 souvenir Coke cans and “America’s Cruisin” beer.
Carnival’s shore-side calendar includes homeport events in Baltimore on June 28, Long Beach on June 30, and Jacksonville and Tampa on July 2. The line is also supporting the Virginia Sail250 Fireworks Show in Norfolk on June 20, the Port of San Diego Bay Boom on July 4 and the Miami-Dade 250 Independence Day Celebration on July 4.
