Victoria’s Ogden Point to Receive 14 Cruise Ships Sept. 7-13
Friday’s three arrivals are scheduled inside a 45-minute window, with Norwegian Bliss, Eurodam and Royal Princess all due to depart before midnight.
Victoria is scheduled to receive 14 cruise ships at Ogden Point from September 7 through September 13, with the vessels carrying a combined estimated capacity of 46,491 passengers. The 2026 back-to-school week is set to exceed the final week of August, when 13 ships with capacity for 43,274 passengers were on the schedule.
The week-over-week increase amounts to 3,217 potential passengers, or about 7.4%, from one additional call. The figures are based on vessel capacity and do not represent the number of passengers who will ultimately arrive in Victoria.
Three-ship days drive weekly volume
Thursday is expected to produce the highest passenger capacity of the week. Voyager of the Seas is due at 8 a.m., followed by Norwegian Joy at 1 p.m. and Celebrity Edge at 5:30 p.m.; together, the ships can carry an estimated 10,801 passengers.
Saturday follows closely with capacity for 10,516 passengers across three calls. Celebrity Summit is scheduled to arrive at 7 a.m. and remain until 11:59 p.m., a visit of nearly 17 hours. Star Princess and Norwegian Encore are due that evening at 7 p.m. and 7:45 p.m., respectively.
Friday’s arrivals are the most tightly packed of the week, inside a 45-minute window. Norwegian Bliss is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., Eurodam for 8 p.m. and Royal Princess for 8:15 p.m. The three ships have combined capacity for 9,914 passengers and are all due to depart by 11:59 p.m.
The schedule begins Monday evening with Carnival Spirit, which is expected at 8 p.m. with capacity for 2,124 passengers. No cruise calls are scheduled Tuesday. Emerald Princess and Carnival Miracle will bring combined capacity for 5,204 passengers on Wednesday.
Sunday’s two calls can accommodate another 7,932 passengers. Anthem of the Seas, the week’s largest ship by passenger capacity, is scheduled to arrive at 3 p.m. with space for an estimated 4,919 passengers. MSC Poesia is due at 7 p.m. with capacity for 3,013.
Norwegian and Princess lead operator totals
Norwegian Cruise Line will account for the largest share of the week’s potential passenger traffic. Norwegian Joy, Norwegian Bliss and Norwegian Encore have combined capacity for 12,131 passengers.
Princess follows with combined capacity for 10,940 passengers across Emerald Princess, Royal Princess and Star Princess. The remaining calls are divided among Carnival Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, Holland America Line and MSC Cruises.
Season schedule approaches 280 calls
Approximately 279 ship visits had been scheduled between the start of Victoria’s 2026 cruise season and Sunday, September 6. Those vessels represented combined estimated capacity of about 839,000 passengers.
For comparison, Victoria handled about 310 to 311 cruise calls and approximately 990,000 passengers during 2025. The port recorded 316 calls and roughly 970,000 passengers in 2024, after receiving 326 ships and a similar passenger total in 2023.
Victoria’s 2026 season has more than a month remaining.
