TUI Cruises Details Mein Schiff Flow Dining Lineup
FUGU by Tim Raue serves a five-course menu with wine pairings and a digital presentation, with the chef citing Singaporean cuisine as the venue’s inspiration.
TUI Cruises has detailed the food-and-beverage program for Mein Schiff Flow, with 14 restaurants and bistros and 17 bars and lounges aboard its newest ship. The second InTUItion-class vessel was christened in Trieste on June 20 and is now sailing its first Mediterranean season.
Mein Schiff Flow carries up to 3,984 passengers. The ship is listed at about 160,000 GT, 333 meters long and 18 decks.
FUGU leads the specialty restaurant lineup
FUGU by Tim Raue is the main chef-led concept onboard. The restaurant serves a five-course menu with wine pairings, supported by a digital presentation through the evening that TUI Cruises is using as part of the restaurant’s storytelling format.
Raue said the concept draws on Singaporean cuisine and its mix of influences. “We wanted to bring precisely this diversity to life at FUGU,” he said, adding that the digital element takes the venue beyond a conventional dinner format.
The InTUItion-class restaurant mix also adds Sur Mer Bistrot, a French venue, and Taverna Dionysos, a Greek concept. They join existing Mein Schiff dining venues including Atlantik Restaurant, the Harbour Market buffet and Osteria - Pasta e Pizza.
Other specialty restaurants include Høfde, serving Scandinavian-inspired fish and meat dishes, and Chalet Restaurant & Bar, with an Alpine menu. The Street Art Bar also carries sushi and signature dishes from Raue.
X areas add champagne and an evening restaurant
The ship’s bars and lounges include coffee-focused service at the Barista Bar and sea-view cocktails at the Captain’s Bar. Junior Suite and Suite guests have access to the X-Lounge, X-Bar, X-Coast and the new X-View.
The X-View operates with buffets and snacks during the day, then opens in the evening as a specialty restaurant available to all passengers. TUI Cruises is also introducing Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ house champagne in the X-areas for the first time, with Mandois Blanc and Mandois Rose.
“With Mandois, we are expanding our champagne selection with two special cuvees,” said Markus Zschiesche, head of food and beverage at TUI Cruises.
Trade partners saw the ship before the christening
TUI Cruises introduced Mein Schiff Flow to selected commercial partners on a “Together at Sea” preview sailing from Trieste before the christening. Clas Eckholt, vice president commercial at TUI Cruises, said the trip was designed to let sales partners get to know the ship “comprehensively” while building contact with the line’s sales team.
The preview included workshops, a “Go with the Flow” ship rally, live music and show formats. A subsequent AHOI trip for 35 selected partners included the christening ceremony and meetings with CEO Wybcke Meier, Raue and bartending world champion Linh Nguyen, with discussions centered on the ship’s new gastronomy concepts.
