Sea Cloud Spirit Announces 2027 President’s Cruise to Lisbon
The three-masted ship’s crew will set all 28 sails by hand during a day under full sail, before the voyage ends with a passage up the Tagus River into Lisbon.
Sea Cloud Cruises’ 136-guest Sea Cloud Spirit will operate a seven-night President’s Cruise from Bilbao, Spain, to Lisbon, Portugal, on July 20-27, 2027. Kevin Smith, the line’s president of the Americas, will host the voyage on the first anniversary of his appointment.
Fares for the sailing, booking code SCS-2725, start at $7,995 per person based on double occupancy, subject to availability and change. The itinerary includes a private, after-hours visit to the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao.
Smith and his wife, Christina, will join passengers at dinners, evening gatherings on deck and a sunset event during the voyage.
“Our team makes the experience what it is, and our guests have a real part in shaping what comes next,” Smith said.
The route calls at Gijon, A Coruna and Vigo in Spain, followed by Porto through the port of Leixoes in Portugal. Shore excursions are offered to Oviedo, Santiago de Compostela and the Islas Cies.
In Bilbao, the museum visit will give guests access to selected artworks inside the Frank Gehry-designed Guggenheim. Regional food and wine will also feature onboard. Basque pintxos and Galician seafood are among the specialties, alongside wines from Rias Baixas and the Douro Valley.
The itinerary schedules a day under full sail aboard the three-masted ship, whose crew sets its 28 sails by hand. The voyage also includes a passage along the Tagus River into Lisbon.
“When the crew begins setting the sails, everyone on deck looks up,” Smith said. “It’s quite a sight and a reminder that nobody moves a ship like this forward alone.”
An optional pre-cruise program covering Bilbao and Rioja is available July 18-20, 2027.
