Riviera Travel River Cruises Reports 92% Growth in North America

The 110-meter George Eliot, currently marketed for 132 passengers, is scheduled to become a dedicated solo vessel in 2027, which Riviera calls a world first.

Riviera Travel River Cruises reported 92 percent year-over-year growth in its North American business as of September 2026. In an October 19 update, the company forecast full-year growth above 100 percent, which would give it a second consecutive year of more than doubling that business.

Bookings for Rhine and Moselle cruises increased 200 percent year over year, while those for the Mekong itinerary introduced in 2025 rose 300 percent. The update did not include absolute booking totals.

“When we rebranded in 2025, we had the vision of making Riviera Travel River Cruises a household name,” said Stuart Milan, president of North America for Riviera Travel River Cruises. Milan credited the company’s staff and travel advisor partners for its performance.

Groups and solo travel drive gains

Group bookings are Riviera’s fastest-growing segment. The company attributed much of that growth to its promotion allowing an eighth guest to sail free, although it did not provide a percentage increase for group sales.

Solo bookings have more than doubled year over year, while demand for solo departures increased 80 percent compared with 2025.

The 110-meter George Eliot, currently marketed for 132 passengers, is scheduled to become a dedicated solo vessel in 2027. Riviera describes the planned operation as the world’s first dedicated solo cruise ship.

Advisor training passes its first anniversary

More than 3,000 travel advisors had registered for Riviera Explorer by September, following the training platform’s first anniversary. Participants completed more than 55,000 training modules over the preceding year, and the program had produced more than 600 graduates.

The self-paced course takes approximately four to five hours to complete. Its six modules include instruction on solo travel and group bookings, alongside itinerary matching and fleet information. Advisors completing the course earn Riviera Graduate status.

The platform also provides sales materials, including brochures, social-media templates and product updates. Some Riviera promotions and rewards require completion of the training, and graduates can qualify for exclusive incentives.

Looking ahead to 2027 and 2028

Riviera’s 2027 plans include its Vietnam, Cambodia and Mekong River Cruise itinerary, with Riviera Alba listed as a planned Mekong vessel for Vietnam and Cambodia.

The company has also opened sales for 2028 and announced its Riviera Moment collection. The collection will add river-cruise experiences tailored to North American travelers.
