MSC Virtuosa to Leave Southampton for Brazil in November 2026
Before departing Southampton, MSC Virtuosa has four cruises remaining, from four to seven nights, calling at Ireland, Belgium, France, Portugal and Spain.
MSC Virtuosa is completing its summer deployment from Southampton ahead of a 25-night repositioning cruise to Santos departing November 7, 2026. The crossing will include calls in the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands and Brazil before the ship begins its Brazilian winter programme.
The ship will then spend two European summer seasons in the Western Mediterranean, in 2027 and 2028. MSC Preziosa will operate from Southampton during winter 2026-27.
Having started its current Southampton season in May, MSC Virtuosa has completed its final longer itinerary, a 12-night Canary Islands cruise. Four shorter departures remain, ranging from four to seven nights and visiting destinations in Ireland, Belgium, France, Portugal and Spain.
For the winter season following its Atlantic crossing, the ship will offer cruises in Brazil with departures from Santos, Salvador and Maceio. No executive statement accompanied the published deployment details.
Built by Chantiers de l’Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire, France, MSC Virtuosa entered service in May 2021 and spent its inaugural season sailing from the United Kingdom. MSC’s official specifications list the Meraviglia-Plus vessel at 181,541 gross tons, with capacity for 6,334 passengers.
Mediterranean summers and a second Brazil winter
The ship’s 2027 Western Mediterranean programme will visit Spain, France, Italy and Tunisia. That season is scheduled to continue until mid-November, when the vessel will return to South America for its second winter in Brazil.
MSC Virtuosa will be part of a five-ship South American deployment for winter 2027-28. MSC Meraviglia, MSC Divina, MSC Splendida and MSC Musica are also scheduled to operate in the region. The combined programme covers Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay.
For MSC Meraviglia, it will be a South American debut. The ship had initially been assigned to the Southern Caribbean before deployment changes linked to the cancellation of MSC’s Middle East season shifted it to South America.
Before that deployment, MSC Meraviglia is scheduled to arrive in Southampton on May 18, 2027, to begin its first season sailing from the United Kingdom.
