MSC Opens Bookings for 119-Night 2029 World Cruise

Departures are available from Civitavecchia, Genoa, Marseille and Barcelona, while the fare includes 15 shore excursions and a lunch-and-dinner Dine & Drink package.

MSC Cruises has opened bookings for its 119-night 2029 World Cruise, visiting 45 destinations in 21 countries aboard the recently refurbished MSC Magnifica. Embarkation begins in Civitavecchia, the port for Rome, on January 4, 2029, with Genoa, Marseille and Barcelona also available as departure ports.

The itinerary includes a circumnavigation of Australia and an extended section through Indonesia, covering Bali, Lombok and Java. Nine overnight calls are scheduled across the voyage.

The fare includes 15 shore excursions and a Dine & Drink package covering house wines, draught beer and selected other beverages during lunch and dinner. Passengers also receive a 30% discount on laundry services, while MSC Voyagers Club members at Classic level and above qualify for a 5% booking discount. MSC did not publish a starting fare or include an executive comment in its launch announcement.

Overnights and new calls along the route

MSC lists Kangaroo Island, Broome and Darwin among the itinerary’s new calls. The Australian section also includes Melbourne and Adelaide, along with overnight stays in Sydney and Fremantle, the gateway to Perth. Fremantle is a new overnight destination for the program.

Kangaroo Island is a wildlife stop, with koalas and sea lions among the draws. Broome opens up Western Australia’s Kimberley coast and its pearling history, and Darwin takes the voyage into the Northern Territory. In Sydney, an MSC excursion takes passengers up Sydney Harbour Bridge to a height of 134 metres.

In Indonesia, Celukan Bawang in northern Bali is another new call, offering access to villages, temples and volcanic landscapes. On Lombok, excursions take in traditional villages and coastal areas. Singapore is also scheduled for an overnight stay.

Elsewhere in the Pacific, new destinations include Lautoka in Fiji and Timaru on New Zealand’s South Island. Lautoka is the jumping-off point for the nearby Mamanuca Islands, and Timaru for South Canterbury. Milford Sound returns to the itinerary for scenic cruising through its fjords.

The South American section includes overnight visits to Rio de Janeiro and Ushuaia. Rio’s attractions include Sugarloaf Mountain and Christ the Redeemer, while Ushuaia offers access to Tierra del Fuego National Park and the Beagle Channel’s glaciers and fjords.

Yacht Club suites and port-themed programming

MSC Magnifica now includes MSC Yacht Club accommodation, a restricted-access area with its own suites, restaurant, lounge and private sundeck, plus round-the-clock butler and concierge assistance.

Programming during the world cruise will include destination-related activities, themed dining evenings, local food pairings and cocktails tied to ports on the itinerary. Live music, stage productions, language lessons and dance classes are also planned for the voyage.

MSC Voyagers Club members can earn triple points on their world cruise booking under a sales-opening promotion, with the points credited before departure. That offer closes on November 19, 2026.
