MSC Cruises Launches July 4 Sale for U.S. Homeport Sailings

Five sailings from United States homeports overlap July 4, including MSC Seascape from Galveston and MSC Poesia from Seattle in MSC's first year sailing in Alaska.

MSC Cruises has launched a July 4 sales offer that includes Port Canaveral and Miami departures, advertising 40 percent off cruises, children sailing free and $250 off U.S.-homeport sailings. The line is also extending its Epic Europe Sale beyond June 23, with $600 off Mediterranean and Northern Europe cruises.

The U.S. promotion is being paired with Independence Day programming on MSC ships sailing from U.S. homeports for America’s 250th anniversary, including shipboard parties, themed dining and holiday-specific beverages.

Holiday program limited to U.S.-homeport ships

The onboard program is planned for MSC Cruises ships sailing from U.S. homeports during the holiday period. Red, White and Blue parties, branded photo settings, flag giveaways, U.S.-themed trivia and movie programming are among the scheduled activities, with Top Gun, Forrest Gump and Saving Private Ryan listed as movie titles for the program.

Food and beverage offerings include main dining room entrees such as southern-style fried chicken and slow-roasted prime rib, along with a celebratory dessert carrying an America’s 250th header. MSC is also planning a U.S.-themed buffet with items including hot honey fried chicken, beer brats, smoked pulled pork, Chicago hot dogs, Mississippi mud pie, New York cheesecake bites and Kentucky bourbon bites.

The holiday beverage menu includes five drinks: American Colada, Stars & Spritz, Star-garita, Uncle Sam’s Sangria and the non-alcoholic Freedom Fizz. MSC has not released the ingredients for the specialty drinks.
