MSC Cruises Expands Aurea Spa Fleetwide With Medical Wellness

MSC has not named the first North America ships or pricing; the new menu includes intravenous therapy, dermal fillers and permanent make-up.

MSC Cruises will expand its MSC Aurea Spa program across its 23-ship fleet during 2026, adding medical wellness, cosmetic, skincare and grooming services to the onboard spa product. The first medical wellness services are scheduled for select ships from summer 2026, beginning in North America.

The rollout broadens a spa offer that has traditionally centered on massage, facial and body treatments, thermal areas and salon services, with facilities varying by ship. MSC did not name the first North America ships or release pricing for the new treatments.

Medical services will begin on select ships

The new medical wellness menu will include IV therapy, aesthetic injectables, dermal fillers and permanent make-up, with treatments performed by licensed professionals. MSC is also adding professional teeth whitening, ear piercing using hypoallergenic jewelry and expanded men’s grooming services, including scalp consultations and therapeutic massage treatments.

Georg Schmickler, senior vice president of onboard revenues at MSC Cruises, tied the expansion to evolving guest expectations. “Today’s travelers are looking for more than a vacation; they want to return home feeling better than when they left,” Schmickler said.

Claudio Saviano, head of Aurea Spa at MSC Cruises, said the line is aiming for “an immersive and effortlessly accessible wellness experience at sea,” with services designed around relaxation, recovery and self-care.

Skin diagnostics, head spa and guest amenities join the menu

MSC will add AI-supported skin assessments intended to give guests treatment and product recommendations. The line also plans to introduce hydro-microdermabrasion, a water- or serum-based exfoliation and suction treatment, alongside skincare products and devices from Opatra London.

A Japanese-inspired head spa treatment focused on the scalp and hair is scheduled to roll out fleetwide from summer 2026. Guests will also be offered wellness teas from Team Dr Joseph before or after treatments.

From summer 2026, select MSC Aurea Spa guests will receive a wellness pochette with products and amenities such as branded flip-flops and shaving kits. MSC has not detailed whether the gift will be tied to specific treatments, packages or cabin categories.
