Mitsui Ocean Cruises Launches 2026 Summer in Japan Sale

The all-suite Mitsui Ocean Fuji, formerly Seabourn Odyssey, entered service for Mitsui in December 2024, with South Korean calls at Busan, Yeosu and Jeju.

Mitsui Ocean Cruises has introduced a "Summer in Japan Sale" for 11 cruises aboard Mitsui Ocean Fuji, covering departures from June 3 through Sept. 19, 2026. The offer provides up to $1,000 in onboard credit per suite, or $500 per guest at double occupancy, and includes 15% commission for travel advisors.

The promotion centers on a Japan summer deployment timed to festivals and fireworks, with most port calls packaged with English-guided shore options.

What the promotion covers

Mitsui Ocean did not disclose starting fares or a booking cutoff for the sale. In most ports, guests receive an included shore component, from half-day guided visits to full-day excursions with lunch or shuttle service, led by English-speaking guides.

The 458-guest Mitsui Ocean Fuji, formerly Seabourn Odyssey, is a 32,477-GT all-suite ship built by T. Mariotti in 2009 and measuring about 198 meters. It entered service for Mitsui in December 2024, and the 2026 summer schedule combines Japanese ports with calls in Busan, Yeosu and Jeju in South Korea.

Food programming includes a July 27 Tokyo event hosted by Andrew Zimmern, with pre-cruise market tours and dining events. Zimmern is a four-time James Beard Award winner. The July 30-Aug. 8 Yokohama roundtrip includes Beppu, Busan, Akita, Aomori and Miyako and features Nebuta Festival programming.

Two-ship schedule follows in 2027

The 2026 sale precedes a 2027 program already opened to North American travelers, with 27 sailings from February through September aboard Mitsui Ocean Fuji and Mitsui Ocean Sakura. Those voyages range from five to 12 nights and are built around seasonal events including snow festivals, cherry blossom periods, summer fireworks and autumn harvest programs.

"Our two-ship fleet gives us a unique position to sail exclusively around our island nation, while also offering longer voyages to nearby South Korea and beyond," said Tsunemichi Mukai, president of Mitsui Ocean Cruises.

The separate 2027 early-booking offer provides up to $1,000 in onboard credit on cruises reserved by Sept. 30, 2026. Mitsui Ocean Sakura is scheduled to enter service in late 2026 ahead of that two-ship season.
