Margaritaville at Sea Brings Full Fleet Together in Nassau
Paradise was on a four-night Bahamas cruise from West Palm Beach, while Islander arrived from Tampa on a six-night voyage with Key West and Freeport calls.
Margaritaville at Sea’s two operating ships called Nassau together in late April, the first simultaneous port visit for Margaritaville at Sea Paradise and Margaritaville at Sea Islander. The call put the line’s full active fleet alongside in the Bahamas while the ships were sailing separate itineraries from West Palm Beach and Tampa.
The brand entered service in 2022 and has since grown from a single Bahamas short-cruise ship into a two-homeport operation. Margaritaville at Sea said guests and crew from both vessels took part in the celebration during the shared Nassau call.
Paradise was sailing a four-night Bahamas cruise that included Nassau and Freeport. Islander arrived during a six-night Key West and Bahamas voyage from Tampa, with calls at Key West, Nassau and Freeport and two days at sea.
The company did not release ship-by-ship passenger counts for the port day or include an executive statement with the update.
Paradise remains the smaller ship in the operation. It is 52,926 gross tons, with capacity for about 1,680 passengers. Built in 1991 for Costa Cruises, the vessel later sailed for Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line as Grand Classica before becoming Margaritaville at Sea’s first ship in May 2022.
Islander is the larger Tampa-based vessel, at about 85,700 gross tons and capacity for about 2,650 passengers. The former Costa Atlantica joined Margaritaville at Sea in mid-2024 after a major refurbishment, following earlier service for Costa Cruises and CSSC Carnival in China.
Paradise has also begun adding Western Caribbean calls to its schedule. In early May, the ship made its inaugural call at Cozumel during its first short Western Caribbean cruise.
The next fleet addition is Margaritaville at Sea Beachcomber, which is scheduled to begin sailing Caribbean and Bahamas cruises from PortMiami in 2027.
