Marella Discovery II Opens Cyprus 2026 Cruise Season in Limassol
Marella’s return signals growing confidence in Limassol as a fly-cruise gateway, strengthening Cyprus’ bid for a larger role in Eastern Mediterranean tourism.
Marella Discovery II has opened Cyprus' 2026 cruise season at DP World Limassol, where it will homeport for 26 calls between April and November. The ship is sailing an eight-day Eastern Mediterranean itinerary calling at Kusadasi, Mykonos, Piraeus, Souda in Crete and Rhodes before returning to Limassol.
Limassol is now in its second year as a Fly & Cruise base for Marella, with guests flying into Larnaca or Paphos before transferring to the terminal. As homeport, Limassol handles all 26 embarkations during the 2026 program.
Marella returns to Limassol for a full homeport season
Simon Pitout, CEO of DP World Limassol, welcomed the ship's return.
"The cruise sector remains a vital pillar of Cyprus tourism offering and we are delighted to once again welcome Marella Discovery II to DP World Limassol as its homeport for 2026," Pitout said. He said Limassol is "firmly establishing itself as a strategic hub in the Eastern Mediterranean" and that port operations were "business as usual."
