Koper Welcomes Mein Schiff Flow, Its Largest Cruise Ship Yet
The 333-meter ship was built by Fincantieri, christened in Trieste on June 20 and can carry a reported 3,984 passengers, with about 1,945 cabins.
The Port of Koper has welcomed the maiden call of TUI Cruises’ Mein Schiff Flow, which the port said is the largest cruise ship ever to visit Koper. The LNG-powered vessel measures 333 meters and about 160,000 gross tons.
Mein Schiff Flow is TUI Cruises’ second InTUItion-class ship, was built by Fincantieri and was christened in Trieste on June 20.
In its social media statement, the Port of Koper said calls by ships of this scale “further strengthen Koper’s position” in the Adriatic and demonstrate its ability to receive the “latest generation of cruise ships.” The statement did not include a named official comment.
Mein Schiff Flow can carry a reported 3,984 passengers at maximum occupancy, with about 1,945 cabins and roughly 1,500 crew. Koper’s cruise facility is listed with a dedicated 420.2-meter quay, alongside berthing, a minimum depth of 11 meters and terminal space for up to 4,000 passengers.
The cruise terminal is located in Basin I at the edge of Koper’s historic center, a few hundred meters from the old town and about a five-minute walk from Tito Square. The facility handles ships directly at the quay rather than by tender and is designed for one vessel at a time.
Koper also opened its new Passenger Terminal building on May 27, ahead of the Mein Schiff Flow call.
Three women served as co-godmothers at the ship’s christening for the first time in the line’s history. After its Mediterranean season, Mein Schiff Flow is scheduled to move to Hamburg in October before heading to Kiel and the Baltic Sea at the start of November.
