Incheon Schedules Record 132 Cruise Ship Calls Next Year
Cruise operations in Incheon were halted from 2020 through 2022, resuming with 12 calls in 2023 and 15 in 2024 before this year’s 113 scheduled calls.
Incheon has 132 cruise ship calls scheduled for next year, a projected post-pandemic high, according to figures announced November 3 by the Incheon Metropolitan Government and Incheon Port Authority. The total would be about 17% above the 113 calls scheduled through the end of the current year. The current year’s schedule is itself nearly 3.5 times the previous year’s 32 calls.
Cruise operations in Incheon stopped entirely from 2020 through 2022 because of COVID-19. The recovery began with 12 calls in 2023, followed by 15 in 2024.
For comparison, annual call totals ranged from 53 to 95 between 2013 and 2016. The upcoming schedule would top all of them.
The city’s tourism work for the coming year will focus on identifying local attractions and developing cruise-specific excursions. Officials plan to bring restaurants, shopping routes and other destinations with a distinct local character into Incheon-themed tourism products and tour itineraries. Complimentary shuttle buses may also run from Incheon Port Cruise Terminal to major attractions on cruise-call days.
