Carnival Moves 153 Florida Cruise Departures to 3 P.M.
Carnival directs guests to follow the final boarding time on their boarding pass, as federal passenger-manifest rules require check-in to close before departure.
Carnival Cruise Line has moved departure times 30 minutes earlier on 153 sailings aboard Carnival Elation and Carnival Glory from Florida in late 2026 and 2027. Affected voyages will leave at 3 p.m., replacing the previously scheduled 3:30 p.m. departure.
The changes cover 77 cruises from Jacksonville and 76 from Port Canaveral. Port calls and scheduled returns to the ships’ homeports remain unchanged.
Carnival is notifying booked passengers but has not disclosed a specific reason for either ship’s revised schedule or the number of departures affected.
Which sailings are affected
For Carnival Elation, which operates four- and five-night Bahamas cruises from Jacksonville, the adjustment applies to every departure from December 3, 2026, through November 22, 2027.
Carnival Glory, which sails three- and four-night Bahamas itineraries from Port Canaveral, begins its revised schedule with its December 14, 2026, departure, and the change covers all sailings through December 31 that year. In 2027, the affected departure windows are February 1–April 26, May 15–September 10, October 4–15, and November 8–26. Both ships visit combinations of Nassau, Celebration Key and RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay, depending on the departure date and cruise length.
The boarding deadline that counts
Carnival’s guest notification directs passengers to be aboard by the “final boarding time specified on the boarding pass.” That deadline, not the published sailaway time, governs when guests must reach the ship.
Federal passenger-manifest rules require check-in to close before departure. Carnival has previously confirmed that departures will not be held for late-arriving passengers, including when delays result from circumstances outside their control.
Passengers driving to either homeport will need to account for the revised schedule, particularly if they had planned to arrive at the terminal later in the afternoon.
In August 2025, Cruise Hive documented a family missing Carnival Glory at Port Canaveral after being delayed in traffic. The vessel was still alongside when they arrived, but they could no longer board.
Carnival made a similar change in May 2026, adjusting 92 Carnival Panorama departures from Long Beach. That round also included revised port-call times and some later returns to California.
