Disney Wish Brings Boo’s Enchanted Pumpkin Tree to Life

Boo debuted during Disney Wish’s first Halloween on the High Seas season in 2022, with a backstory tying the tree to the Grand Hall’s Wishing Star chandelier.

Disney Cruise Line’s Halloween on the High Seas presentation aboard Disney Wish brings Boo, the ship’s Enchanted Pumpkin Tree, to life with storytelling, lighting, music and sound effects. The Grand Hall show draws on Cinderella’s story, and guests help the storyteller awaken the tree and illuminate its pumpkins.

Boo debuted during the vessel’s first Halloween on the High Seas season in 2022. Each Disney cruise ship has its own Enchanted Pumpkin Tree.

In Boo’s backstory, the tree was created by the Wishing Star, a recurring element aboard Disney Wish represented by the Grand Hall chandelier. Over the years, she gave away all but one of her pumpkins, keeping the last for a special purpose: it eventually became Cinderella’s coach.

The coach appears on a pumpkin during the performance. The storyteller then lights the other pumpkins with images from Cinderella’s story, including the Fairy Godmother, Jaq, Gus, Lady Tremaine and the Stepsisters.

Boo’s eyes open on the tree trunk as she awakens and speaks about wishes. The presentation ends with the audience making a wish together. Outside the scheduled performances, guests can view the tree in the Grand Hall throughout their sailing.

Disney Cruise Line has also recently introduced Solara, the Enchanted Pumpkin Tree aboard Disney Destiny.

Halloween on the High Seas is offered on selected sailings, generally from late September through October, with activities varying by ship and itinerary. Boo’s show runs at selected times; guests can find the onboard performance schedule in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app.
