Disney Extends San Diego Homeport Deal Through 2031

Disney Cruise Line and the Port of San Diego have extended their homeport agreement through at least 2031. Disney is expected to roughly double its annual departures from the city. The deal, announced April 23, is projected to bring more than 1 million Disney passengers through the port over its term.

It is San Diego’s first minimum annual cruise-line guarantee in over two decades. Disney will also receive priority, but not exclusive, use of the north and south berths at the B Street Cruise Ship Terminal.

The arrangement provides for more frequent seasonal departures to Catalina Island, Baja California and the Mexican Riviera. B Street is the port’s main cruise terminal, while the nearby Port Pavilion on Broadway Pier provides a third berth for additional ships and special circumstances.

“This new agreement supports our long-term growth and helps us continue contributing to the region’s economy,” said Jose Fernandez, Disney Cruise Line’s vice president of port strategy, development and operations.

Disney began sailing from San Diego in 2012. Ann Moore, chair of the Port of San Diego Board of Port Commissioners, said the extended relationship would support cruise operations, tourism jobs and local businesses serving passengers and ships.

Disney expands the fleet and discounts Wonder sailings

Disney operates eight ships. Five additional vessels are scheduled to enter the fleet by late 2030, overlapping with the new San Diego contract period.

Disney has also added select Disney Wonder departures from San Diego between Jan. 3 and March 26, 2027, to its current fare-savings offer. Eligible seven-night bookings receive discounts of $300 to $500 per passenger, depending on stateroom category, while voyages of six nights or less qualify for savings of $150 to $250 per passenger.

The offer is available for as many as five guests in a stateroom, with bookings due by Aug. 30, 2026. Eligible inventory is limited to categories 04A through 11C; concierge accommodations and suites are excluded, and the savings cannot be combined with other discounts.

Two ships scheduled for the 2026-27 season

Disney Magic and Disney Wonder, sister ships, will both operate from San Diego during the 2026-27 season.

Disney Wonder will homeport in the city from October 2026 through April 2027, sailing three- to seven-night itineraries that include Catalina Island, Cabo San Lucas, Ensenada and Puerto Vallarta.

Disney Magic is due to arrive in October for three- to seven-night cruises through November. After completing that program, the ship will depart on a 14-night Panama Canal voyage to Galveston.
