Disney Cruise Line opened its first consumer pop-up in mainland China to the public on November 4 at Shanghai Disney Resort. The exhibition offers a preview of the approximately 208,000-gross-ton Disney Adventure. It will remain open through January 15, 2027.

Located beside Shanghai Disneyland’s main entrance, the Disneytown installation introduces visitors to the line’s first ship to homeport in Asia. Its displays explore seven themed areas drawn from Disney, Pixar and Marvel stories.

Sarah Fox, Disney Cruise Line’s vice president and regional general manager for Southeast Asia, attended the opening. “The Disney Adventure opens an exciting new chapter for Disney Cruise Line in Asia,” she said. “Our collaboration with Shanghai Disney Resort gives guests in the Chinese mainland a special way to step into that story before beginning their holiday in Singapore.”

“By bringing the ship's characters, spaces, and experiences to Disneytown, we hope to help families and Disney fans discover what makes a Disney cruise unlike any other holiday at sea,” Fox added.

The 40-meter installation takes its design from the vessel’s exterior. It includes a replica bow with Disney characters appearing in portholes and a backdrop depicting the ship’s deck. Statues of Mickey and Minnie in captain’s attire greet visitors at the entrance. Inside, interactive screens introduce the ship’s entertainment, restaurants, attractions and amenities for different age groups. Scale models and cross-section illustrations give visitors a view of its interior layout.

Andrew Bolstein, president and general manager of Shanghai Disney Resort, shared photographs and details of the exhibition. “This new activation gives guests more reasons to visit the resort and discover the many ways Disney delights audiences across the region,” he said.

Entertainment and dining aboard Disney Adventure

Onboard entertainment includes the original Broadway-style production Remember and Ironcycle Test Run. Disney Cruise Line’s first shipboard roller coaster is also the longest roller coaster at sea. The Bon Voyage Breakfast with Duffy’s Friends is the fleet’s first character breakfast featuring Duffy and Friends.

The ship has spaces and activities for children and adults, accommodating multigenerational family groups. Its dining selection includes Chinese, Singaporean, Indian and Japanese dishes alongside international options.

Disney Adventure operates three- and four-night cruises from Singapore. Beginning December 31, select four-night departures will call at Langkawi, Malaysia, the ship’s first port of call.
