Disney Cruise Line

Disney Believe Maiden Voyage Starts at $6,444 With Final Deposit

Disney Believe, Disney’s fourth Wish-class ship, is under construction at Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany, and will accommodate up to 4,000 passengers.

Disney Believe’s Maiden Voyage Is an Expensive Commitment

Disney Believe’s maiden voyage starts at $6,444 for two guests in an inside cabin, and the 10% deposit becomes non-refundable as soon as it is paid. That is a substantial commitment for five nights in the Bahamas. I’d need to care a great deal about sailing first to accept those terms, especially when later cruises offer the same three destinations.

Disney Cruise Line has released 29 inaugural-season sailings from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, covering December 18, 2027, through May 6, 2028. The four- and five-night Bahamas and Western Caribbean program starts at $2,683 for two guests. General reservations open October 19, 2026, after several days of early access.

The five-night maiden voyage visits Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, Disney Castaway Cay and Nassau. Concierge accommodations start at $17,074 for two. Ten later five-night Bahamas cruises will call at those same destinations, with inside fares starting at $3,444.

Those are starting prices, not a promise that every later departure will cost that amount. But the choice is clear enough: passengers can experience Believe during its inaugural season at a lower advertised fare.

The maiden-voyage terms deserve a close read

The inaugural cruise’s 10% deposit must be paid by 11:59 p.m. Eastern time on the booking date. Final payment is due 120 days before departure for suites and Concierge accommodations, and 90 days before sailing for other stateroom categories.

Guests who want Disney Cruise Line’s Vacation Protection Plan must buy it and pay in full when making the maiden-voyage reservation. It cannot be added later.

The primary guest must remain on the reservation. Otherwise, Disney will cancel it and apply any relevant cancellation fees. Moving to a different sailing date also requires cancellation and a new booking. Maiden-voyage reservations cannot be combined with other offers, discounts or future cruise credits, although existing reservations may be transferred to the inaugural cruise.

I’d read those conditions before getting attached to a particular cabin. A non-refundable deposit is one thing. Having to cancel and start again to change dates makes this a booking for someone already certain about the trip, not someone reserving now and sorting out the details later.

The rest of the season offers more choice

All published fares cover two guests and include taxes, fees and port expenses. Disney cautions that rates and availability can change.

The lowest advertised fare belongs to the January 20, 2028, four-night sailing to Nassau and Lookout Cay. Inside accommodations start at $2,683, oceanview cabins at $2,987, verandah cabins at $3,315 and Concierge accommodations at $6,699. There are seven departures on that itinerary, all in 2028: January 20, February 3 and 17, March 2 and 16, and April 13 and 27.

The ten regular five-night Bahamas voyages depart January 10 and 24, February 7 and 21, March 6 and 20, April 3, 17 and 22, and May 1, 2028.

Eight five-night Western Caribbean cruises will call at Cozumel, Mexico, and Castaway Cay, with two sea days. Departures are December 31, 2027, followed by January 15 and 29, February 12 and 26, March 11 and 25, and April 8, 2028. Inside fares start at $3,180, while the New Year’s sailing begins at $6,030.

Two four-night departures skip Nassau and visit both Disney island destinations. The December 27, 2027, sailing starts at $5,476 for an inside cabin. The March 30, 2028, departure begins at $3,220. Those are the dates to examine for anyone who wants both Disney destinations in a shorter cruise.

A separate four-night sailing to Castaway Cay and Nassau departs December 23, 2027, with inside fares from $5,211. Across departures from January onward, published inside pricing ranges up to $4,790. Disney has not published itineraries beyond the announced inaugural season.

The ship is the reason to go

Believe will be Disney’s fourth Wish-class vessel, following Disney Wish, Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny. The approximately 144,000-gross-ton, LNG-fueled ship is under construction at Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany, and will accommodate up to 4,000 passengers.

About 70% of its staterooms will have verandahs. More than 450 connecting doors will serve larger families, and most accommodations will retain Disney’s split-bath layout. For a family choosing cabins, the room arrangements are part of the product.

Disney introduced Believe’s dining and entertainment lineup during its October 7, 2026, livestream. It includes Disney Encanto, the first stage adaptation of the animated film, and Oaken’s Table: A Frozen Family Feast, a new family restaurant with live musical performances.

The Grand Hall will draw on Moana. Adult venues include the Snow White-inspired Wishing Well lounge and Sea Notes, a piano lounge based on The Little Mermaid. Tangled: The Musical will return with revised sets and ship-specific effects.

Fort Lauderdale has hosted Disney’s year-round operations since November 2023, initially with Disney Dream. Disney Destiny also sails from Port Everglades, where the line has a 15-year agreement. Believe adds another Wish-class ship to that established South Florida base.

When reservations open

Booking windows open at 8 a.m. Eastern time. Pearl Castaway Club members receive first access on October 12, 2026, followed by Platinum members on October 13 and Gold members on October 14. Silver members, eligible Disney Vacation Club members and Adventure Insiders with Adventures by Disney can book on October 15. General booking follows on October 19.

Castaway Club members and the general public can reserve through their MyDisney accounts or a travel advisor. Disney Vacation Club members using Reservation Points must contact Member Services at (800) 800-9800. Adventure Insiders can use a travel advisor or call (800) 951-3532.

A separate Disney Vacation Club member-exclusive “First Wave” cruise departs January 5, 2028. Reservations for that sailing open November 21, 2026.

There is plenty here to justify wanting to sail on Believe. The harder case is paying the maiden-voyage fare and accepting its stated restrictions when the same ports appear repeatedly on the calendar. I’d book the new ship, not the distinction of being first.
