Discover Airlines Adds Frankfurt-Genoa Flights for Costa Cruises
The Airbus A320 service will run Saturdays and Sundays from March 28 through October 30, with packages tied to Costa Toscana and Costa Fascinosa.
Discover Airlines will launch twice-weekly nonstop flights between Frankfurt and Genoa for the 2027 summer season, supporting Costa Cruises departures from Genoa and nearby Savona. The 180-seat Airbus A320 service will operate from March 28 through Oct. 30 under a collaboration involving the airline, Costa and Genoa Airport.
Genoa and Savona handled about 2.3 million cruise passengers across 440 calls in 2024.
Fly-and-cruise packages will combine the flights with sailings aboard Costa Toscana from Savona and Costa Fascinosa from Genoa.
“The new connection with Frankfurt, one of Europe’s leading hubs, represents a strategic step for the growth of our region and of the cruise market,” Costa Cruises CEO Mario Zanetti said.
Discover Airlines Chief Commercial Officer Marco Gotz described Genoa as “one of the Mediterranean’s most important cruise gateways.” Discover is part of the Lufthansa Group and is headquartered in Frankfurt.
