Costa Favolosa Enters Rotterdam Drydock Before Caribbean Season
Before reaching its winter homeport, Costa Favolosa will call in England, France and the Canary Islands, then visit Guadeloupe, Antigua and St. Kitts.
Costa Cruises’ Costa Favolosa entered drydock at Damen’s Rotterdam shipyard on October 20, 2026, for scheduled maintenance. The ship is due to resume passenger operations on November 8 with a 22-night repositioning voyage from Hamburg to Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.
The yard visit falls between the vessel’s Northern Europe summer deployment and its 2026-27 Caribbean winter season. A detailed scope of the technical work has not been released.
Work is also expected in the ship’s hotel spaces. Replacement carpeting and upholstery refreshes are anticipated, along with updates to soft furnishings, although the individual projects have not been confirmed.
The post-drydock crossing will begin with calls in England, the Netherlands and France before continuing to Portugal and Spain, then the Canary Islands. Caribbean visits will include Guadeloupe, Antigua and St. Kitts before the vessel reaches its seasonal homeport.
Passengers can join the winter program’s seven-night cruises in the Dominican Republic, Martinique or Guadeloupe.
Built by Fincantieri in Marghera, Italy, the 114,417-gross-ton Concordia-class vessel joined Costa’s fleet on July 2, 2011, and completed 15 years of service this year. The ship has 1,505 cabins and a listed passenger capacity of 3,012. Its inaugural deployment was in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Costa Favolosa is scheduled to return to Europe in late March 2027 for a spring program in the Western Mediterranean. Its subsequent summer deployment will offer departures from Hamburg to Scandinavia, Iceland and the British Isles, among other destinations.
