Costa Diadema Starts Norwegian Fjords Cruises in Northern Europe

Before arriving in Northern Europe, Costa Diadema completed a twenty-five-night repositioning voyage from Santos with calls in Cape Verde, Morocco and Belgium.

Costa Diadema has begun a Northern Europe summer deployment for Costa Cruises, starting seven-night Norwegian Fjords sailings on May 15 after spending the winter in South America. The ship is sailing from Kiel and Copenhagen on weeklong cruises to Norway, Germany and Denmark.

The program keeps the 2014-built ship in Northern Europe through mid-September before a scheduled move to the Western Mediterranean. The deployment is part of a seasonal rotation that sends Costa Diadema back to South America in early November for the 2026-27 winter season.

Norwegian Fjords season from Kiel and Copenhagen

The Northern Europe itineraries include calls at Bergen, Stavanger, Flam, Alesund, Geiranger, Haugesund and Hellesylt. The ship boards passengers in Kiel and Copenhagen.

Costa Diadema is one of Costa’s larger ships, with a published capacity of 4,947 passengers and about 1,253 crew. The 132,500-gt vessel measures 306 meters in length and has nearly 1,900 cabins, depending on configuration.

Before arriving in Northern Europe, the ship operated a 25-night trans-Atlantic repositioning voyage from Santos, Brazil. That sailing included additional calls in Brazil along with ports in Cape Verde, Spain, Morocco, Portugal, France, England and Belgium.

Western Mediterranean and South America rotation

After the Northern Europe season, Costa Diadema is scheduled to shift to the Western Mediterranean, first operating short cruises to Italy, Spain and France. The ship’s fall program is then set to add longer itineraries visiting Portugal, the United Kingdom and Morocco.

The ship is scheduled to return to South America in early November. It will begin with short cruises from Santos and Itajai before starting regular seven-night cruises in December to Santos, Buenos Aires, Montevideo and Itajai.

That South America itinerary will allow guests to embark in every port and is scheduled to run through late March. Costa’s 2026-27 South America program will also include Costa Serena, which is set to sail from Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro.
