Carnival Opens 2028-29 Baltimore Cruises With Luminosa and Miracle

Carnival Miracle will sail two eight-day Canada and New England cruises from Baltimore on September 9 and 23, 2028, calling at Portland, Halifax and Saint John.

Carnival Cruise Line has opened bookings for its two-ship 2028-29 Baltimore program, with Carnival Luminosa joining Carnival Miracle in November 2028 following a dry dock. The ships will serve 22 destinations across the Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada and the Caribbean.

The deployment will be Carnival’s second consecutive two-ship season at the Maryland homeport, following the previously announced pairing of Carnival Pride and Carnival Miracle for 2027-28. The newly released program offers voyages lasting six to 14 days, with departures available through April 2029.

Baltimore recorded 413,639 departing cruise passengers in 2025. Cruise operations there had been disrupted the previous year by the temporary port closure following the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse.

Luminosa’s move follows its planned departure from the Australian market in March 2028 and a subsequent repositioning to Los Angeles. The 92,720-gross-ton ship accommodates 2,260 guests at double occupancy and entered Carnival’s fleet in 2022.

Before beginning Baltimore service, the ship will undergo a refresh of its public spaces and other onboard enhancements. Carnival has not identified the shipyard for that dry dock or detailed the work planned. The schedule announcement did not include an executive statement.

Luminosa’s Bahamas and Caribbean schedule

Luminosa’s shorter Baltimore itineraries will comprise seven- and eight-day Bahamas cruises, while nine-day departures will visit the Eastern Caribbean. Its longer sailings will operate under the Carnival Journeys program, with 12- and 14-day voyages to the Southern Caribbean.

Destinations on those extended voyages include the southern island calls of Aruba, Curacao and Barbados, alongside Martinique, St. Lucia and St. Kitts. Other ports in the program include St. Croix, St. Maarten and St. Thomas.

Calls across the two-ship Baltimore schedule will include Celebration Key on Grand Bahama and RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay, as well as Grand Turk and Amber Cove.

Miracle adds Canada departures and longer voyages

Carnival Miracle is scheduled to relocate to Baltimore in November 2027. Miracle, which entered service in 2004, measures 88,500 gross tons and carries 2,134 passengers at double occupancy.

Its newly opened departures begin in September 2028. Six- to eight-day itineraries will serve the Bahamas and Bermuda, while nine-day Eastern Caribbean cruises will call at Amber Cove and San Juan, with either St. Maarten or St. Thomas also on the route.

Miracle will also operate eight Carnival Journeys departures lasting 12 to 14 days. Those Eastern and Southern Caribbean itineraries include Antigua, Bonaire, Dominica and Tortola, along with calls in Aruba, Barbados, Curacao, Martinique, St. Lucia and St. Kitts.

Two eight-day Canada and New England cruises are scheduled to depart on September 9 and September 23, 2028. Ports on those voyages include Portland, Maine; Halifax, Nova Scotia; and Saint John, New Brunswick.

Carnival Pride is not included in the newly announced season. The ship began year-round Baltimore service in 2009, and its booking calendar currently lists departures from the port only through April 2028. Carnival has not announced a subsequent deployment for the vessel.
