Carnival Brings Cat in the Hat Activities to 23 Ships

Selected ships will greet embarking passengers with 40-foot Cat in the Hat inflatables, while themed packages will be delivered to selected staterooms.

Carnival Cruise Line is offering “The Cat in the Hat” movie-themed activities on 23 of its 29 ships and adding two interactive experiences to its Seuss at Sea program. The film promotion runs during the two weeks leading up to the November 6, 2026, theatrical release from Warner Bros. Pictures Animation.

The promotion coincides with the 15th year of Carnival’s partnership with Dr. Seuss. The broader Seuss at Sea program, which Carnival lists as included in the cruise fare, is offered fleetwide.

“We’ve seen millions of children light up as they experience the world of Dr. Seuss aboard our ships,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line.

Movie activities across participating ships

The Cat’s Hollywood Debut Party brings the film promotion into ship atriums, with balloon drops, character appearances, crafts and family entertainment. A red-and-white striped carpet provides a premiere-style setting for the events.

On selected ships, 40-foot Cat in the Hat inflatables greet passengers on open decks during embarkation. A separate activity, The Cat’s Secret Surprise, delivers packages to selected staterooms with themed postcards, snacks, invitations to special character meet-and-greets and other giveaways inside.

Camp Ocean is hosting three activities tied to the character: The Cat’s Messy Room Mission, The Cat’s Stacking Challenge and The Cat’s Rhyme-O-Rama. Families can also take part in movie-themed photo opportunities and green-screen experiences.

For the promotion, onboard Build-A-Bear Workshops carry a specialty Cat in the Hat stuffed animal and Thing 1 and Thing 2 shirts for bears.

Carnival has not identified the 23 participating ships in its announcement. Availability and timing vary by ship and sailing.

Two additions to Seuss at Sea

Beyond the movie promotion, Carnival is introducing Seuss-a-palooza Game Time and Seuss-a-palooza Family Time to its established family program.

Game Time takes place in the main theater before Seuss-a-palooza Story Time. It combines music and dancing with tongue twisters, games and challenges inspired by Dr. Seuss.

Family Time centers on group participation, with families acting out book scenes, moving like Dr. Seuss characters and playing themed charades. Both additions join an existing lineup that includes the Seuss-a-palooza character parade and Story Time, the Thing 1 & Thing 2 Birthday Breakfast and Dr. Seuss Bookville.

Carnival is also promoting the film through a co-branded advertisement appearing online, on television and streaming services, and on stateroom televisions aboard its ships.
