Carnival Legend Opens 2026 Europe Season From Dover

The Dover program includes a June Iceland cruise with four Icelandic calls and an eleven-night Western Europe itinerary tied to total solar eclipse viewing.

Carnival Legend has begun Carnival Cruise Line’s 2026 Europe season after arriving at Dover on June 7 at the end of a trans-Atlantic crossing from Miami. The Spirit-class ship is operating nine- to 12-night itineraries from the U.K. homeport to Northern Europe, with calls across Scandinavia, the British Isles and the Baltic.

The deployment follows a 16-day drydock at the Grand Bahama Shipyard in Freeport that returned the vessel to service in Miami on May 20. The ship also carries the line’s new “From Sea to Shining Sea” bow crest, a design planned for most Carnival ships sailing from U.S. ports. Legend is the first to wear it.

Dover program includes Iceland and eclipse sailings

From Dover, Carnival Legend is scheduled to sail longer northern itineraries, including a June Iceland cruise calling at Grundarfjordur, Reykjavik, Akureyri and Djupivogur, along with destinations in Great Britain and Ireland. Another 11-night Western Europe itinerary is tied to total solar eclipse viewing and includes Zeebrugge, Le Havre, Le Verdon, Vigo, Porto, Lisbon and Guernsey.

New bow crest starts rollout

After drydock, Legend sailed a four-night Bahamas cruise from Miami to Nassau and RelaxAway at Half Moon Cay before departing May 24 on its 14-night repositioning voyage. The Atlantic crossing included Liverpool, Holyhead and Dublin before the European season began.

No venue-by-venue scope for the Legend refit was included with the drydock update; the confirmed work included technical maintenance and installation of the crest on the bow. The design features Carnival’s whale tail, two stars and the Carnival name, and was inspired by “America the Beautiful” for the United States’ 250th anniversary.

“With the debut of this new crest, we're reinforcing what guests have long known: Carnival is proud to be America's Cruise Line,” Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, said when the design was unveiled.

Carnival plans to add the crest during upcoming drydocks and newbuilds, while Carnival Jubilee and the future Carnival Tropicale are slated to carry the Texas star on their bows. Carnival Magic was listed as the next ship for the new design while undergoing its own Freeport drydock.

Fall schedule shifts to the Mediterranean

In mid-September, Carnival Legend is scheduled to shift to Civitavecchia for a fall Mediterranean season running through November. Those nine- and 12-night cruises call at ports in Italy, Greece, Montenegro, Croatia and Turkey.

The Europe deployment is scheduled to end with a westbound Atlantic crossing to Tampa, where Legend is set to operate Western Caribbean cruises for the winter. After that Caribbean program, the ship is scheduled to head to Alaska in April 2027.
