AmaWaterways Launches Memorial Day Sale on 300 River Cruises

Colombia sailings take place aboard AmaMagdalena, a 60-guest vessel introduced in 2025, with visits to the UNESCO-listed town of Mompox.

AmaWaterways launched a week-long Memorial Day sale covering about 300 departures in Europe and Colombia, combining complimentary land packages with per-stateroom discounts on select 2026 and 2027 river cruises. The promotion was offered in the U.S. and Canadian markets, with savings of up to $2,500 per stateroom for U.S. guests and up to C$3,000 per stateroom for Canadian guests.

The sale was available May 20-27. Eligible land packages included accommodations at four- or five-star hotels, daily breakfast, guided tours, local experiences, transfers between the hotel and ship, portage service and assistance from a dedicated Cruise Manager.

"This is one of the strongest offers we have ever brought to market," said Alex Pinelo, chief sales officer at AmaWaterways. Pinelo said the promotion was aimed at travelers looking to maximize "both their time and investment" while adding more time ashore to their trips.

AmaWaterways also allowed the Memorial Day sale to be combined with several existing incentives, including Past Guest Rewards, Future Cruise Benefits and Military Savings. The offer could also be paired with the line’s limited-time AirPlus roundtrip economy airfare, priced at $599 for U.S. guests and C$799 for Canadian guests.

The departures covered by the sale spanned two parts of AmaWaterways’ river program. In Europe, the line sells itineraries on rivers including the Danube, Rhine, Seine, Douro, Moselle, Main, Garonne and Rhône; in Colombia, it operates Magdalena River cruises aboard AmaMagdalena, a 60-guest vessel introduced in 2025.

The Colombia program includes Cartagena, the UNESCO-listed riverside town of Mompox, Palenque, Barranquilla and wildlife and birdwatching experiences along the Magdalena River corridor.
