Adora Magic City Restores Japan Calls to 2026 Shanghai Program
Adora Magic City, China’s first large domestically built cruise ship, is now Adora’s only vessel with Japan listed on its 2026 calendar.
Adora Cruises has added Japan port calls to Adora Magic City’s summer 2026 program from Shanghai, restoring Japanese destinations to the company’s schedule after earlier cancellations tied to a national outbound travel advisory and changing market conditions. The updated program puts the ship on four- to six-night sailings from Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal, pairing Japan calls with continued South Korea itineraries that include Busan and Jeju.
Adora Magic City is now the only Adora Cruises vessel with Japan on the 2026 calendar. The earlier cancellations had shifted capacity toward South Korea and Southeast Asia.
Shanghai ship carries Adora’s Japan deployment
Adora Magic City, China’s first large domestically built cruise ship, has operated primarily from Shanghai across Japan, South Korea and Southeast Asia. Japan had already reappeared in the ship’s winter program, with a Japanese port listed for December 2026; the summer revision brings Japan into its mid-year schedule. The update did not name the Japanese ports.
Adora Mediterranea’s summer deployment from Tianjin remains focused on South Korea and Southeast Asia, while no Japan calls have been announced for Adora Flora City, the vessel scheduled for delivery in November and planned for Guangzhou Nansha homeporting.
Other Shanghai programs also list Japan
Royal Caribbean’s Spectrum of the Seas includes Fukuoka, Nagasaki and Kagoshima in its 2026 summer-to-autumn program, and MSC Bellissima is scheduled to return to Shanghai on Aug. 1 for Japan and South Korea itineraries through late October.
