Zac Brown Named Godfather of Margaritaville Beachcomber

On January 28, Brown will headline an exclusive Nassau concert as Beachcomber joins Islander and Paradise for Margaritaville at Sea's first three-ship gathering.

Margaritaville at Sea has named country singer-songwriter Zac Brown godfather of its newest ship, Margaritaville Beachcomber. He will christen the vessel and perform onboard during its inaugural celebration in Miami in January 2027.

The three-time Grammy winner and Jimmy Buffett collaborator helped develop Same Boat, the ship’s new live-music venue, contributing to the design, artwork and music programming.

On January 28, Brown will also headline an exclusive concert in Nassau during the fleet’s first gathering of all three ships, with Beachcomber joining Islander and Paradise.

“I’m really proud of what we’ve created together, and being named Godfather of Beachcomber is a true honor,” Brown said.

“Zac has already put his own stamp on Beachcomber, and we couldn’t imagine a better person to help us officially welcome her to the fleet,” said Christopher Ivy, chief executive officer of Margaritaville at Sea.

From Deck 5 to Fenway Park

Same Boat will occupy an aft space on Deck 5, pairing live performances with cocktail service in a setting inspired by Brown’s musical influences. Nashville-based country artist Jessica Rose, a Margaritaville Atlantic City performer, will help open the venue when the ship enters service.

The collaboration also extends ashore: Margaritaville at Sea is the presenting sponsor of Zac Brown Band’s 27-show Love & Fear U.S. Tour.

At the band’s August 2 Fenway Park performance, Brown provided a cruise vacation to every attendee. The cruise line put the audience at more than 35,000 people and valued the giveaway at $43 million.

Beachcomber’s inaugural season

A 12-week dry-dock refurbishment will prepare the former Costa Fortuna, delivered by Fincantieri in 2003, for its new role as the line’s largest ship, at 102,500 gross tons. Beachcomber will introduce 15 new venues alongside established concepts such as Cheeseburger in Paradise and License to Chill.

The onboard plan includes a four-deck, aft poolside version of 5 o’Clock Somewhere. Across the ship, guests will have 17 dining venues, 12 bars and lounges, and more than 20 entertainment options, including three original production shows.

Beachcomber’s initial PortMiami deployment will offer four- to eight-night voyages to the Eastern and Southern Caribbean. The ship will reposition to Galveston in October 2027 for a Texas program of four- to seven-night cruises, with destinations including Aruba, Curaçao, Key West and Veracruz, Mexico.

For that deployment, Same Boat will feature a talent roster selected specifically for the Texas market. The Galveston itineraries are already open for booking.

The first Texas departure will be the four-night Cozumel Express on October 4, 2027. A January 14, 2028, Mexico Trio voyage is currently the only scheduled sailing to include Veracruz, alongside calls at Cozumel and Progreso.
