Silversea Begins 50-Day Mediterranean Voyage From Lisbon to Athens
The itinerary includes forty-eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites, plus private shoreside events such as after-hours access in Florence and dinner inside Serefiye Cistern.
Silversea has begun its 50-day Grand Voyage Mediterranean 2026 from Lisbon to Athens (Piraeus) aboard Silver Spirit. The sailing runs through November 7, with calls at 40 destinations across 12 countries.
Overnight stays in Malaga, Livorno and Istanbul give passengers extended time ashore, while the itinerary encompasses 48 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, according to Silversea. The program also includes private shoreside events in Italy and Turkey.
“Silversea's Grand Voyages are designed to immerse guests more deeply in each destination, building the kind of moments guests remember long after a voyage ends,” said Bert Hernandez, president of Silversea.
The Italian event, A Renaissance Journey, is a two-day overland excursion from Livorno to Florence, beginning at Pisa’s Piazza dei Miracoli. Hernandez also cited after-hours access in Florence as an example of the experiences offered during the sailing. In Istanbul, passengers will attend a private dinner with music inside the Serefiye Cistern.
The route combines destinations such as Casablanca, Dubrovnik and Barcelona with less-traveled stops including Volos, Gythion, Kotor and Amalfi. It is divided into five segments, beginning with Lisbon to Barcelona and continuing to Civitavecchia, the port for Rome.
Subsequent legs run from Civitavecchia to Fusina, serving Venice, and then onward to Athens. The final segment is a Piraeus round trip.
Onboard, dining additions include Riviera, an open-air poolside venue inspired by what Silversea describes as the golden age of Mediterranean travel. The line also points to enlarged public areas and refreshed interiors aboard Silver Spirit, alongside other new dining concepts.
The Grand Voyages collection, introduced in July 2019, has further sailings confirmed through 2028. Those departures include Grand Voyage Mediterranean 2027 aboard Silver Dawn, followed by Grand Voyage Asia 2028 on Silver Muse and Grand Voyage South America 2028 on Silver Ray.
