Scenic Ikon to Debut in Eastern Mediterranean in April 2028

Scenic Ikon is designed for two hundred seventy passengers in one hundred thirty-five all-veranda suites, with two helicopters and a submersible.

Scenic Group has opened its 2028-29 Discovery Yacht program, with Scenic Ikon scheduled to enter service in April 2028 and spend its first season in the Eastern Mediterranean, Adriatic and Aegean. The new collection adds Greek island calls including Naxos, Milos, Paros and Hydra, alongside Adriatic ports such as Kotor, Dubrovnik and Zadar.

The deployment gives Scenic a third Discovery Yacht. Scenic Ikon is designed for 270 passengers in 135 all-veranda suites, with a length of 205 meters and gross tonnage of about 26,500.

Scenic Ikon’s first season focuses on the eastern Mediterranean

The 2028 program includes Istanbul calls, an Egypt overnight experience built around the Pyramids of Giza and Dardanelles sailings with access to Troy and ANZAC Cove. Further west, Scenic is also extending its Atlantic and West African program with destinations including Cape Verde and Dakar.

The ship’s design includes two helicopters and the Scenic Neptune III submersible, while its Polar Class 6 ice-strengthened hull gives the vessel scope for polar operations. Scenic Ikon also has up to 15 dining experiences, a feature tied into access for the highest-suite guests in the new program.

Scenic Group is adding nine luxury ships between 2026 and 2028 across river, yacht and expedition categories. Scenic Ikon follows Scenic Eclipse and Scenic Eclipse II in the Discovery Yacht fleet.

Land programs and suite benefits expand around the yacht schedule

Scenic is adding land journeys and small-group tours across Italy, Malta, Turkey and Greece. Angus Crichton, director of land product at Scenic Group, said the land journeys were “designed to align pre or post a Scenic Discovery Yachts voyage,” giving guests a single itinerary across coastal and inland destinations.

The new season also adds benefits for guests in Panorama, Grand Panorama, Scenic Yacht, Grand Terrace, Owner’s Penthouse and Ikon Penthouse suites. On selected Signature Yacht Cruises in Europe, the Mediterranean and the Americas, eligible suite guests will receive a private half-day excursion with a personal guide.

Those excursions will vary by destination and may include after-hours museum access, culinary experiences with local chefs or private cultural visits. Eligible suite guests will also receive private chauffeur transfers at the start and end of their trip.

Penthouse suite guests will receive a helicopter landing experience where local rules allow it. The options named by Scenic include golf at Sicily’s Verdura Resort or Terre Blanche in France, visits to Portonovi and Elba’s Tenuta delle Ripaie, and truffle hunting with Karlic Truffles in Croatia.

Ikon Penthouse guests and Chairman’s Club members will also have access to Scenic Ikon’s Chairman’s Lounge, a private venue with its own bar and menus drawn from the yacht’s dining program.

Guests booking any suite under Scenic’s Super Earlybird offer on selected departures from April 2027 through April 2029 will receive a complimentary 20-minute helicopter flightseeing experience in Europe, the Mediterranean and the Americas. Scenic did not list starting fares for the new voyages.
