Royal Caribbean Adds Bahamas Cruise Before Legend’s Florida Debut
The added voyage includes Perfect Day at CocoCay, and guests booked on the November 11 sailing were told they can keep their reservation or switch.
Royal Caribbean International has added a three-night Bahamas cruise from Port Everglades on Nov. 8, 2026, to Legend of the Seas’ maiden season, placing an additional sailing ahead of the ship’s previously scheduled Fort Lauderdale inaugural on Nov. 11. The new voyage includes a call at Perfect Day at CocoCay, the line’s private island destination in The Bahamas.
The added cruise gives Royal Caribbean another short Caribbean sailing at the start of the ship’s Florida program after Legend completes its first summer in Europe. The ship is under construction at Meyer Turku in Finland and will be the third vessel in the company’s Icon-class series.
Booked guests offered a switch to the added sailing
Royal Caribbean disclosed the change in an email to guests booked on the Nov. 11 sailing. “The anticipation is building, and we simply can’t wait to welcome guests onboard for our arrival into Fort Lauderdale,” the company told passengers, adding that “one additional sailing has been added.”
Passengers on the Nov. 11 cruise had two options. They could keep their reservation unchanged or move to the Nov. 8 departure. Royal Caribbean told guests that bookings moved to the new cruise would be priced at prevailing rates, subject to availability.
European debut remains scheduled for July
Before reaching Florida, Legend of the Seas is scheduled to embark its first guests from Civitavecchia on July 4, 2026, for a Western Mediterranean cruise visiting Italy, Spain and France. Its initial European program includes summer Western Mediterranean sailings before the repositioning to Fort Lauderdale for the 2026-27 winter season.
At about 250,800 gross tons and 365 meters long, Legend is planned for 5,610 passengers at double occupancy and up to 7,600 at maximum capacity, with about 2,350 crew and 2,805 cabins. The LNG-powered ship follows Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas in Royal Caribbean’s Icon-class lineup.
One early Mediterranean itinerary has already changed
Royal Caribbean also adjusted the July 25, 2026, Legend itinerary, replacing Alicante with La Spezia on an eight-night Western Mediterranean voyage. In a separate guest communication, the company said updates were needed as it finalized “scheduling, port arrangements, and operational details.”
The revised sailing includes Malaga, Palma de Mallorca, Naples and La Spezia before arrival in Civitavecchia. Royal Caribbean told guests that La Spezia, used for Florence and Pisa tours, will be served by tenders; guests using collapsible wheelchairs who can take a few steps can use the tenders, while full-time mobility scooter or wheelchair users unable to take a few steps may be unable to go ashore.
