Ponant's Le Boreal Makes Maiden Call at Bodrum Cruise Port
The Global Ports Holding-operated terminal has a finger pier for two large cruise ships or four smaller vessels, roughly one and a half kilometers from Bodrum Castle.
Ponant’s Le Boreal made its first call at Bodrum Cruise Port earlier this month, adding another maiden visit to the Turkish port’s cruise season. Local authorities, port officials and ship officers gathered onboard for a plaque exchange during the call.
The visit puts the 264-guest Ponant vessel into a Bodrum season that still has 18 additional maiden calls scheduled. For 2026, the port expects 119 cruise calls and about 140,000 passengers.
Bodrum adds another upscale maiden call
Bodrum Cruise Port called the arrival “another important milestone for Bodrum as a premier cruise destination in the Eastern Mediterranean.” The port also thanked Le Boreal’s captain, officers and crew for hosting the ceremony onboard.
The remaining maiden-call program includes The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, Four Seasons Yachts, Ponant and Emerald Cruises, and the season also brings calls by Virgin Voyages’ Scarlet Lady and AIDA Cruises’ AIDAblu.
The Global Ports Holding-operated port has a finger pier able to accommodate two large cruise ships or four smaller vessels at the same time. The terminal is about 1.5 to 2 kilometers from Bodrum’s city center and roughly 1.5 kilometers from Bodrum Castle.
Le Boreal continues Aegean program before repositioning
Le Boreal is sailing its summer Mediterranean program between Piraeus and Istanbul, with seven- to 12-night itineraries covering the Greek Islands and Turkey. Aegean calls include Hydra, Symi, Bozcaada and Amorgos.
Later this month, Le Boreal is scheduled to shift to the Western Mediterranean for cruises focused on the French and Italian Rivieras. In October, the ship is due to sail a trans-Atlantic crossing to Argentina before beginning its winter Antarctica program, where it typically operates with about 200 guests under expedition operating limits.
