Norwegian Jade Begins First Japan and South Korea Season Since 2019
Before heading to Asia, Norwegian Jade completed a routine drydock that added Vibe Beach Club and a Starbucks outlet in its atrium; the ship was refurbished in 2022.
Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Jade is crossing the Pacific to Yokohama ahead of a fall deployment in Japan and South Korea. The ship departed Vancouver on September 21, 2026, for a 16-night repositioning cruise scheduled to end on October 7.
The deployment will be the ship’s first season in the region since 2019. Cruises lasting nine to 14 nights will operate through late November, with departures from Yokohama, Tokyo and Incheon. Norwegian Cruise Line did not include an executive comment with the announcement.
A two-week sailing from Tokyo to Yokohama in late October will circumnavigate Honshu and Shikoku, visiting 12 destinations in Japan and one in South Korea. Japanese calls include Hiroshima, Shimonoseki, Kanazawa, Sakata, Nagoya and Shimizu, while Busan is the South Korean stop.
The current transpacific itinerary follows the ship’s summer Alaska season and includes calls at Ketchikan, Sitka, Whittier and Kodiak, along with scenic cruising at Hubbard Glacier. Hakodate is also on the itinerary before the crossing concludes in Japan.
Before leaving for Asia, the ship underwent a routine drydock that added Vibe Beach Club and a Starbucks outlet in the atrium. The beach club addition follows similar upgrades aboard other Jewel-class vessels.
Built in 2006 by Meyer Werft in Germany, the 93,558-gross-ton ship accommodates approximately 2,400 passengers at double occupancy. It also underwent a refurbishment in 2022.
In early December, a repositioning voyage to Hong Kong will precede a winter season in Southeast Asia. The ship is then scheduled to return to Japan in late February 2027 for a spring deployment.
That season will run through late April, after which the ship returns to North America for another summer in Alaska.
