Norwegian Cruise Line Cuts 2026 Summer Cruise Fares by 50%

Great Tides Waterpark on Great Stirrup Cay is scheduled to open in September 2026, with nineteen slides, a Tidal Tower and a Splash Cay kids' area.

Norwegian Cruise Line is discounting its 2026 summer close-to-home program, offering 50 percent off cruises from 15 homeports across the continental United States and Canada and adding Kids Sail Free on selected departures. The promotion covers June-through-September sailings in the Caribbean, Bahamas, Bermuda, Alaska and Canada/New England, with NCL also packaging the offer with Free at Sea amenities.

The campaign spans short Bahamas cruises, seven-day Caribbean and Alaska voyages, Bermuda sailings with overnight calls, and longer Canada/New England itineraries. NCL said the Free at Sea component can provide more than $2,000 in onboard and destination-related value per stateroom.

“Summer is the perfect time for families to reconnect, recharge and explore,” said Marc Kazlauskas, president of Norwegian Cruise Line. “Whether guests want to island hop in the Caribbean or explore the scenic landscapes of Alaska, Norwegian gives travelers the freedom and flexibility to plan their dream vacation at sea.”

For 2026 departures, Free at Sea bundles an unlimited premium beverage component, a set number of specialty-dining meals, Wi-Fi and shore excursion credits. The standard Wi-Fi allowance is 150 minutes per person, while the shore excursion benefit is a $50 credit for the first guest at each port; beverage-package gratuities carry a 20 percent service charge.

Florida sailings put Great Stirrup Cay in focus

From June through September 2026, four NCL ships will operate Caribbean and Bahamas cruises from Miami and Port Canaveral, with three-, four- and seven-day itineraries. Scheduled calls include Great Stirrup Cay, Cozumel, St. Thomas, Tortola and Falmouth, among other ports.

The Norwegian Luna will sail seven-day roundtrip Eastern Caribbean cruises from Miami. Its program includes Great Stirrup Cay, NCL’s roughly 270-acre private island in the Bahamas, which is expected to receive 17 NCL ships and more than one million guests in 2026.

Great Stirrup Cay’s Great Tides Waterpark is scheduled to open Sept. 4, 2026, during Norwegian Luna’s seven-day Caribbean sailing departing Miami on Aug. 29. The nearly six-acre park will include 19 slides, a 170-foot Tidal Tower, cliff-jump attractions, a 9,000-square-foot Splash Cay kids’ area, the Wandering River and three food trucks. Guests will also be able to reserve private cabanas for up to six people, with admission included.

The waterpark is part of a broader island upgrade that also includes Great Life Lagoon, the adults-only Vibe Shore Club, Splash Harbor and a tram system. NCL allows guests with the Free at Sea beverage package to use that benefit on Great Stirrup Cay.

Bermuda, Alaska and Canada/New England round out the offer

NCL is expanding Bermuda access with sailings from Boston, New York and Philadelphia. Norwegian Jewel will operate seven-day Philadelphia-to-Bermuda voyages through August. Many Bermuda itineraries include overnight stays.

In September, Norwegian Jewel will move into 11-day Canada and New England cruises. In Alaska, NCL will offer seven-day departures from Seattle calling at Juneau, Ketchikan and Skagway, while Norwegian Jade will sail seven-day voyages from Vancouver, British Columbia, with optional CruiseTour extensions.

Day passes for eligible Great Tides Waterpark visits opened for sale May 28 through myNCL after a cruise reservation is completed. NCL said ticket and cabana pricing will vary by seasonality and availability; no starting fare for the close-to-home cruise promotion was disclosed.
