MSC Cruises to Deploy Nine Ships in Caribbean for Winter 2027-28
Miami will host four MSC ships on three- to eleven-night departures, while MSC Seascape remains in Galveston for seven-night Western Caribbean voyages.
MSC Cruises will deploy nine ships in the Caribbean for the 2027-28 winter season, including MSC World Atlantic on its inaugural deployment from Port Canaveral. Seven vessels will sail from U.S. homeports, while two will operate from Martinique, Guadeloupe and the Dominican Republic.
MSC World Asia will also make its Caribbean debut, replacing MSC Meraviglia on Southern Caribbean itineraries. Together with the returning MSC World America, the deployment will put three World-class ships in the region.
World-class arrivals and a Southern Caribbean ship swap
The LNG-powered MSC World Atlantic is scheduled to reach Port Canaveral shortly after delivery from Chantiers de l’Atlantique in 2027. The newbuild will operate seven-night Caribbean voyages. MSC Grandiosa will join it at the Central Florida homeport, handling shorter Bahamas cruises and giving Port Canaveral a two-ship MSC lineup for the winter.
Farther south, MSC World Asia will sail seven-night Lesser Antilles itineraries with embarkation in Guadeloupe and Martinique. The LNG-powered ship is scheduled for delivery from Chantiers de l’Atlantique in November 2026, followed by entry into service the next month.
The swap is part of a wider deployment reshuffle linked to MSC’s cancellation of its Middle East season, which had included planned sailings from the United Arab Emirates and Qatar. MSC Meraviglia will make its South American debut during winter 2027-28 instead. MSC did not include executive comment with the announcement.
Miami, Galveston and Dominican Republic service
Miami will account for four of the seven U.S.-based ships, with departures ranging from three to 11 nights. MSC Seashore, MSC Seaside and MSC Poesia will sail alongside MSC World America from PortMiami. MSC World America, built in 2025, will spend its third consecutive winter there operating weeklong Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises.
Galveston will remain MSC Seascape’s homeport for seven-night Western Caribbean voyages.
MSC Opera will cover the Dominican Republic portion of the winter schedule as part of MSC’s new year-round operation there. That service is scheduled to begin in late 2026.
