Disney Cruise Line Opens Shanghai Pop-Up for Disney Adventure
Running through January 15, 2027, the Disneytown installation spans 40 meters beside Shanghai Disneyland’s entrance and is modeled on Disney Adventure’s exterior.
Disney Cruise Line has unveiled its first consumer pop-up experience in the Chinese mainland at Shanghai Disney Resort, previewing the approximately 208,000-gross-ton Disney Adventure, its first ship to homeport in Asia. The exhibition will open to the public on November 4 and continue through January 15, 2027.
The installation occupies a 40-meter stretch of Disneytown, beside Shanghai Disneyland’s main entrance, with a design modeled on the ship’s exterior. Visitors will be introduced to its seven themed areas, which draw on Disney, Pixar and Marvel stories.
“Our collaboration with Shanghai Disney Resort gives guests in the Chinese mainland a special way to step into that story before beginning their holiday in Singapore,” said Sarah Fox, Disney Cruise Line’s vice president and regional general manager for Southeast Asia.
Statues of Captain Mickey and Minnie greet arriving visitors. Inside, interactive screens introduce the ship’s entertainment, restaurants, attractions and amenities for different age groups, while scale models and cross-section illustrations show how its interior spaces are arranged.
Andrew Bolstein, president and general manager of Shanghai Disney Resort, said: “This new activation gives guests more reasons to visit the resort and discover the many ways Disney delights audiences across the region.”
Inside Disney Adventure
Among Disney Adventure’s attractions is Ironcycle Test Run, Disney Cruise Line’s first shipboard roller coaster and the longest roller coaster at sea. The vessel’s entertainment program also includes Remember, an original Broadway-style musical.
Another addition is Bon Voyage Breakfast with Duffy’s Friends, the first character breakfast in the fleet to feature Duffy and Friends. The ship’s dining choices include Chinese, Singaporean, Indian and Japanese dishes, alongside other international cuisine.
The ship is pitched at multigenerational families, with separate spaces and activities for children and adults. Its themed areas include Marvel Landing, with Marvel-based attractions and experiences, and San Fransokyo Street, a family entertainment area inspired by Big Hero 6.
Disney Adventure’s Singapore program comprises three- and four-night cruises beginning this year. Select four-night sailings will call at Langkawi, Malaysia, from December 31.
