Coast Guard Evacuates Pregnant Woman From Carnival Ship Off Miami
The response occurred about four miles northeast of Government Cut, and photos released with the notice appeared to show Carnival Sunrise, the former Carnival Triumph.
A U.S. Coast Guard Station Miami Beach crew evacuated a pregnant woman from a Carnival cruise ship off Miami on Thursday after she experienced medical complications. The response took place roughly 4 miles northeast of Government Cut, and the woman was transferred to emergency medical personnel after being brought off the ship.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue then took her to a local hospital for additional care. Authorities did not immediately provide her condition.
"Our crews stand ready to help those in distress get the care they need," the Coast Guard's Southeast district said.
The Coast Guard did not identify the cruise ship by name in its post. Photographs released with the notice appear to show Carnival Sunrise, the former Carnival Triumph, which re-entered service under its current name in 2019 after a major refurbishment.
