Adora Cruises to Launch Port Klang Sailings in Late 2026

The announcement followed Malaysian tourism minister Tiong King Sing’s visit to Adora’s Shanghai headquarters for talks on cruise and cultural tourism cooperation.

Adora Cruises said May 28 it will operate eight international voyages from Port Klang, Malaysia, aboard Adora Mediterranea between Nov. 24 and Dec. 19, 2026. The program includes two- and three-night cruises to destinations such as Penang, Langkawi and Phuket. Five-night sailings include Nha Trang.

The Port Klang series gives Adora a defined Malaysia departure window in a year when the line also plans Malaysian calls by Adora Magic City and Adora Flora City. The announcement followed a visit by Malaysia’s Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Tiong King Sing, to Adora Cruises’ Shanghai headquarters.

Port Klang departures add a Malaysia base for Adora Mediterranea

Adora Mediterranea, with capacity for 2,114 to 2,680 passengers, will run the short regional cruises and longer Vietnam calls in a concentrated late-year window.

The talks during Tiong’s visit covered cruise tourism and regional cultural tourism cooperation between China and Malaysia. Adora said it would work with Malaysian partners on Southeast Asia route development, coordination of port resources and shore excursion products.

Malaysian calls fit into a broader 2026 Adora schedule

Adora Magic City and Adora Flora City are also scheduled for Malaysian calls in the second half of 2026, with Port Klang and Kota Kinabalu named in the program. For the 5,246-passenger Adora Magic City, the Malaysia call is tied to its first South China homeport operation from Shekou Cruise Home Port in Shenzhen.

Adora Magic City, China’s first domestically built large cruise ship, completed its 200th voyage on May 5 after returning to Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal. The ship entered revenue service Jan. 1, 2024, and has carried more than 700,000 passengers, primarily on Shanghai-based itineraries to South Korea featuring Jeju, Busan and Incheon.

From Aug. 13 to Sept. 16, 2026, Adora Magic City is scheduled to sail from Shenzhen on five-day, four-night and six-day, five-night international cruises to Vietnam and Jeju. Among the earlier Malaysia-related sailings, the ship is scheduled to depart Aug. 27 on a nine-day, eight-night Maritime Silk Road Discovery Voyage calling at Kota Kinabalu, Muara in Brunei and Nha Trang.
