Windstar Adds 7-Day Cancellation Flexibility for 2026-27 Cruises
A limited-time All-Inclusive offer for bookings through June 30, 2026 adds Wi-Fi, gratuities and select beverages, with some specialty departures excluded.
Windstar Cruises has introduced a Peace of Mind Promise for eligible 2026 and 2027 sailings, giving guests the ability to cancel up to seven days before departure and retain most of the value of a Windstar-booked trip as a Future Cruise Credit. The policy is included at no added cost on qualifying departures through March 31, 2027, and applies to new reservations as well as existing bookings already under deposit.
Windstar said the credit coverage extends to cruise fare, shore excursions, hotels, air and transfers when those components are booked through the company.
“Travelers are paying close attention to the headlines as they plan their vacations, and advisors need flexibility and reassurance when helping clients book with confidence,” said Janet Bava, chief commercial officer at Windstar Cruises.
Future cruise credits cover the Windstar-booked journey
Under the policy, eligible guests who cancel within the permitted window receive a Future Cruise Credit. The credit is valid for 24 months. Windstar said the benefit becomes available for existing reservations sailing through March 2027 once final payment is made.
The company’s 2026-27 deployment named in the announcement includes Alaska, the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, Asia and the South Pacific, including French Polynesia.
“With the Peace of Mind Promise, advisors can confidently recommend Windstar knowing their clients have flexibility built in, plus the option of additional insurance coverage when appropriate,” Bava said.
All-Inclusive offer adds sales incentive
Windstar is pairing the policy with a limited-time complimentary All-Inclusive offer for bookings made through June 30, 2026. The promotion includes Wi-Fi, gratuities and select beverages, including unlimited select cocktails, wine by the glass and beer.
A related Windstar offer covering bookings from April 1 through June 30, 2026, applies to select sailings worldwide for travel through June 30, 2027. The company valued that promotion at more than $1,300 on a seven-day voyage for two guests.
The offer spans Windstar’s global portfolio within the travel window, with exclusions for some specialty departures, including select Grand Prix, Eclipse and Mystery cruises. Windstar’s All-In Package is also sold separately on some sailings and bundles Wi-Fi, gratuities and beverages with the line’s included beverage program.
The Peace of Mind Promise is separate from Windstar’s optional Travel Protection plan, which can be added at booking. Windstar said that plan includes coverage tied to medical expenses abroad, covered trip interruptions and luggage delays.
Bava said industry data has shown U.S. travelers shortening booking windows and weighing cancellation flexibility before committing to international trips.
