Tauck Adds Harmonie in 2028 to Double Rhône Capacity
Tauck has opened reservations before final fares are published, and deposits will be fully refundable if guests cancel after details arrive later this fall.
Tauck will add Harmonie to its French river fleet in 2028, doubling the company’s passenger capacity on the Rhône. The custom-built, 130-guest riverboat will be a sister ship to Lumiere and will operate itineraries including Savoring France: Paris, Lyon & Provence.
Harmonie is part of a five-vessel expansion running from 2026 through 2028 as Tauck retires two older riverboats. The company expects the program, together with additional shoulder-season departures, to increase its total river cruise capacity by more than 50% by 2028.
“The feedback our river guests have shared over the years shapes every ship we build,” Tauck CEO Jennifer Tombaugh said. She said the Harmonie name, which has the same meaning in English and French, was chosen to convey “a sense of balance, ease and connection to the places we explore.”
Five ships arriving through 2028
Lumiere and Serene entered service in 2026 following christening ceremonies in March. Reverie and Saudade are scheduled to arrive in 2027, followed by Harmonie the next year.
The program expands a European river operation Tauck launched in 2006. Its river fleet has been operated through long-term charter arrangements with Scylla, with vessels designed for European waterways.
Harmonie’s onboard layout
The 135-meter Harmonie will operate with 50 crew members. Its accommodations will include 22 Tauck Suites measuring 300 square feet, along with smaller cabin categories.
Plans for the Sun Deck call for a swimming pool, full-service bar and shaded day beds, with space for outdoor dining. The upper Diamond Deck will contain an expanded wellness area named The Retreat, comprising a fitness center, massage treatment room and lounge with floor-to-ceiling windows.
Arthur’s, the vessel’s casual restaurant, will have panoramic river views. Other interior features will include skylit atriums and passenger lounges.
Reservations open before final fares
Tauck has opened reservations for the new deployment but has not yet published final pricing or complete itinerary details. Deposits will be fully refundable if guests cancel once those details are released later this fall.
