StarCruises Opens Bookings for Star Navigator’s 2027 Taiwan Season

From January 24 to February 4, 2027, Star Navigator will sail two- and three-night voyages from Kaohsiung to Hong Kong and Okinawa as the port’s only cruise ship.

StarCruises will open bookings on October 1, 2026, for Star Navigator’s 2027 program from Taiwan, featuring 13 roundtrip itineraries ranging from two to seven nights. The season runs from December 11, 2026, to September 1, 2027, with destinations across Japan and South Korea.

Keelung will remain the ship’s principal homeport, supplemented by a winter school-holiday deployment from Kaohsiung. The southern departures are intended to reduce travel to Keelung for passengers from central and southern Taiwan.

Star Navigator will operate from Kaohsiung between January 24 and February 4, 2027, offering two- and three-night voyages to Hong Kong and Okinawa. StarCruises said Star Navigator would be the only cruise ship sailing from the port during that period.

“Through our year-round sailings, we remain committed to growing the cruise market and making cruise holidays more accessible to travelers,” said Michael Goh, president of StarDream Cruises.

Passengers can book Keelung sailings directly with StarCruises or through participating travel partners across the region. Kaohsiung departures will be sold through participating domestic travel agencies.

Built by Meyer Werft in 1999, the 75,338-gross-ton Star Navigator has 1,856 lower berths and capacity for up to 2,800 passengers with all berths occupied. Previously named Resorts World One, the ship took its current name in March 2025.

Short Okinawa cruises and a New Year departure

The shorter Keelung options include separate two-night itineraries to Ishigaki and Naha, alongside a two-night High Seas Cruise without a scheduled port call. Three-night choices comprise a Naha itinerary and two-port combinations pairing Naha with either Ishigaki or Miyakojima.

A four-night itinerary will visit Miyakojima, Naha and Ishigaki. The holiday schedule also includes a three-night Naha New Year Cruise leaving Keelung on December 31, 2026, allowing passengers to spend New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day aboard.

Five-night routes and a longer summer voyage

The five-night schedule includes two routes calling at Busan. Voyages combining the South Korean port with Sasebo and Naha depart on December 20, 2026, and February 21 and March 21, 2027. StarCruises is promoting the March departure for travel during the cherry blossom period. A separate Busan itinerary substitutes Nagasaki for Sasebo, with departures on May 23 and June 6, 2027.

Jeju features in two other five-night combinations. The route through Jeju, Sasebo and Naha departs on March 14, 2027, while voyages calling at Jeju, Kagoshima and Naha leave on April 25, May 9, July 25 and August 15.

A Japan-only five-night route will call at Fukuoka, Nagasaki and Naha, departing on May 2 and June 27, 2027.

For the summer holidays, the ship will operate a seven-night Japan Discovery Cruise departing Keelung on August 1, 2027. That roundtrip will visit Kochi, Yokohama for Tokyo, Shimizu and Osaka.
